I'm wondering if there are sponsors where on your site you put a link to the sponsors page via a banner. When they click the banner, a new page opens up to the sponsors website.

This way if the surfer likes the sponsor and signs up, great, if not and he closes the page, your page is still in the background so you don't lose traffic (btw my site is a cj site).

Seems the sponsor that I just signed up with doesn't allow this.

Are there any that are any that do that pay on time and provide some free content to promote them.

Normaly sign up sponsors allow it.
Click sponsors will never allow it, becouse they pay you for the surfer.

Just about all click sponsors count second page clicks these days. If you want one that allows you to target a new window then try this:

http://php.offshoreclicks.com/cgi-bin/ref.cgi?referral

There's many more that do too. As he said, any per signup sponsor will allow you to target a new window.

Your sponsor does not allow for you to open the site in a new window? That sucks. Time to find a new sponsor.

I open all my sponsors in a new window - I guess that I better look into their terms closer...

They will fuck you if your not following rules. You will get away with it for a bit, but when you make some good coin they will catch you then.
