View Full Version : Paid Invisible Counter
I need a paid (or free, if available) invisible counter that can take care of 200K hits to TGP galleries. I want it to show which pages are getting how many hits and the referring urls to each page. I would be using it on multiple domains. Any suggestions?

Why not just use a log analyzer?
It is invisible and will give you much more info.
Can they work on all my domains at once? I have 20 domains on the same server. Also, can they run realtime, I mean if I need to check for changes every few minutes?

Would a log analyzer take up precious server resources? I guess it's not a problem if it's just a static html page, but things might get tricky if you use other cgi scripts which take up a lot of resources.
Also, I think hitbox offers a hidden paid counter.

Yes, it can work on all your domains at once and you can set it to run every few minutes.
A good log analyzer does not take much resources.

I'm not too fond of Webalizer.
So is there a paid sevice that I can use? Hitbox is too expensive for me.
Also, which log analyzer do you suggest? Is there a freeware one available?

Urchin (http://www.urchin.com) runs great on dedicated servers from EnergyHosting.

I would say analyzer also im using http-analyze which is great also because i can setup a 1x1 pixel image and pull it from any site on the net to track hits. I see this to be more acurate as somtimes free counters (Especially Pay Counter) fail to load why is beyond me and can shave stats.
Also with this method you have all the data right there in front of you localy and no worry about offsite issues.
Urchin and Http-Analyze are both great i have used each but my preferance is what i feel more confort with. I have never had a problem with it sucking resources as it only analyzes when you tell it to. Its not a program running 24/7 like a counter and uses existing server logs to compile the data.
The only downside is if you have small web space you wont be able to keep the amount of needed logs which mine are deleted bi weekly and consume about 150mb or more server space averaging about 6800 hits daily. Also the analyzer consumes space for its own stats that it generates so you will need to take that into consideration. Another route is if you run linux download the logs and process stats locally.
You can find the softwareat this URL http://www.netstore.de/Supply/http-analyze/
What I need is this - a list of the top 25 hits getting pages for the current day, and the last 3 urls to send hits to each of the 25 page that day. Updates hourly or whenever I run the script.
I cant find anything that does this. I get a top referrer list and a url list, but not the referrers to each page. Is there any counter or analyzer that gives me such stats?
