Best tool for chopping up mpegs?

Whats the best tool I can use for chopping up mpegs into smaller clips. I am using premier currently but it seems way too bloated and slow for such an easy task?

Use VirtualDub... it's free and better than anything else I've tried, as well as easier... will handle whatever you have codecs for...

Don´t forget that VIrtuaDub´s output format is AVI...

Virtual Dub will output any format you have a codec for. It is not limited to avi output.

I have to say virtuadub is awesome http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif Much faster then premiere and does a better job. I couldn't believe saving otu 2 minute clips on my dual 933mhz w/ 1gig of ram was taking 30 minutes with premiere.

Well, I stepped on my dick. VirtualDub does only output avi files. I was thinking of another program that didn't that I used to use a while ago. VD will allow you to load just about any format tho.
