What do you all think of psinet?

Hi,

On my new adult site I'll receive 200-300 Gb traffic. I found several cheap hosts, but now I've found a really good one. They also hosted euro2000.org. PSInet. I can have my own Mbit line. Is this good or not? And do you have any ideas what this will cost?

Furthermore PSINet is bankrupt.

Unless you really know what you're doing, go for a real host, like dynamichosting.com, or for us (iephosting.net - or contact me on icq 2227869) and not a bandwidth provider.

Enigma, you have to stop looking for the cheapest host because you'll regret it later.

Every few days you post here about another cheap host, just STOP!

Cheap hosting is pointless, your host has fixed costs for the service they offer you, if they do not make enough money from YOU they do not have enough money to make an efficient network.
Would you go out and pay $100 for a car in the hope it runs smoothly? NO then don't expect the same from your host !

There are many good hosts that post on this board and they have good prices, sign-up with one (or a few) of them.

psinet is not really cheap LOL. And what the others said. Colocation at level3.com might be good. My host uses them and their network (level3) kicks ass, and bandwidth is very reasonable priced

Once you have found a good host stay with them, provided they don't charge you EXTREME prices on bandwidth (something like $8 / GB or so).
In the long run you'll save so much money by having a good host that you can trust. If you're always looking for one that's even cheaper you should expect it to be cheaper - in all areas.

Also, with a 1mbit line you don't want to transfer 300GB even though dynamichosting uses these numbers. Otherwise your server will get slow. If you need 300GB you should get a 1.5mb/s line.
