I delete virtually all email that comes in with html in it. I've found that this is usually sales crap that I don't read. Recently I've noticed that spammers have started to send plain text messages and they're sneaking through. Is their no end to their guile.
The next stage is blocking domains, I've just blocked geocities, and I'm considering Hotmail. I think I'll have to invent an alternative to eMail

Yah, they must be getting clever cause I try sending regular email messages and they don't go through cause servers think it's spam. :rotflmao:

TO SPAM OR NOT TO SPAM
I learned that when you spam you need to keep a good list in order to make money being a spammer. The only reason spam is still around is because it works. There are some people who are called Cowboy Spammers who would spam their mothers if they could but generally spam does work. So in conclusion I believe is something your just going to have to deal with.

Gotta tell you guys, spamming aint working if you want to work for a long time fulltime in this biz...
You will make a few bucks for a few weeks, but than emails arrive at the wrong places, people post them on all boards and, bye bye!

Most spam is HTML, eh? I've been getting plain text spams for years, well before Mickeysoft made sending redundant HTML garbage an easy thing for most people to do. :p
I still get regular spam sent to an email address I used a few times in a newsgroup in 1995.
There was some program I read about recently that accesses a central database of known spam emails, to match it against messages you receive. The database is updated by users of the program clicking on a button that says "this email is spam." Anyone know the name/URL?
Cheers.

Bah.. as I've always said... just delete the email thats all.. I get a bunch but I'd rather delete a hundred of emails daily than risking filtering 2-3 valid emails out ;)

I give a fuck unless someone wants to get over 50 virus and 20-30 spam mails that i have to wait for my mail client to download every fucking morning. Sure i could filter attachments and other shit but then i cant get legit clients and things i need.
If you dont think spam is a big deal just post your email address right here and we will see about that after 1 week.
i hate spams that includes my name. i very RARELY put my full name on anything unless its to join sponsors or things of importance... and yet i get spams with my full name addressed. what does it tell you?

I've just started blocking domains like geocities on my more public email addresses, and I'm considering blocking hotmail and aol. I think any serious communication will use a different server. It still leaves lots of spam, but it cuts out some of the really stupid ones.
