Howdy

I got a great deal of images that I want to put up on my TGP. But my free host limit is 75 KB pr. file, and my jpg's are 80-100 KB.
Is there a program, where you can specify x kb, and then it will automaticly resize the image so it will be x kb? As said, I got a great deal to convert, so some kind og batch program would be best http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif

I think Arles Webpage Creator can do something similar to this, you can set how much to compress, not sure how this would work out for you, but itīs worh a try, remember to backup :)

PS: You can find it @ www.tucows.com (http://www.tucows.com)

try Image Magick.

It goes along with RedHat, but theres a win32 version also.

Not sure if that will help, but worth a shot.

Thanks for the sugestions.
I tried out ImageMagick. It could do alot of nice stuff ;-) but not resize by kilobyte option. Only resize by specifying height and weight.
What are all you guys out there using?
Doing it by hand, in Photoshop, PSP?

It would take me forever to convert about 600 pics that i have :-/

I use WebGraphics Optimizer Professional 4.2
canīt remember the url but it reduces the size of the pics and can change the height/ width also.
You can put all your pics in a folder and optimize them all.

Ulead has one that will resize just about any way you want...

It's an invaluable tool for adult webmasters.

Called Smart Saver Pro.

thumbsplus or superjpg
I get my best results in thumbsplus, adjust for a 95% resize and a 70 quality, I run 2 or 3 passes until it reaches the size I want, if you have several pics, this is your best option, since it does it in batches and handles nicely http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif
I have tried it agains xat image optimizer and ulead smart saver, the only proggie that really beats it bad is photoshop 6, IMHO

TheBadgurl: Damn, it's good! :-)
Just installed it, easy to use (so even I could find out how to use it ;-)

Thanks for all your sugestions.

As ZnoZ has said, Arles Webpage Creator can do this. You can set size, compression, add borders, text atc. Very good program.

Give Macromedia Fireworks a try. It gives you an export option with a target file size. Plus it will batch your images too.
