No it only affects when x amount of ips to hit the same login in x amount off time you set. So if you have it set for 3 IPs in say 5 mins i dont think very many dialup guys will reconnect and login 3 times within 5 mins.

They know how to set it to be most effective and can better give you the advice on that.

nope, why should it? I'm using it now for two month and it's great. You can't imagine how many traders are out there

hahaha, Toker was again faster than me. You can tell it when it should shut down an account. Let's say after 20 logins from different IPs. If that's not enough then set it to 50 or even more. When one login has been used by the specified number of IPs the prog blocks the access for a certain timeframe you set. That's it. It won't touch your password file

Go to the Pennywize site and look at the info - of course they take dialup surfers into consideration. I've been using it for about 4 months and it has stopped a couple of brute force attacks.
