It is an invisible counter. Because it is a private counter you can make categories for all the sites and/or pages your run. (ie. AVS sites, Full Page ads, free sites, se sites, pay sites, etc..)
Great way to see how well you use your traffic and where you are losing traffic....

Why would you even need a counter provided by an external source? Just use a cgi or php script or the server logs.

I agree, if one needed to pay monthly for a counter they could just as easily buy a counter script to use directly on their server(s). Not only faster but will more than likely be cheaper. You'd have to sell the service for extremely cheap...like $10/yr for it to be even a consideration for most webmaster (imo).

Don't give up on it though, the idea isn't all bad, but you'll need to give it some serious thought, and you'll definately need to offer something to webmasters they couldn't get elsewhere.
