I've just received an email from

It's fairly straightforward. It says that my gall has been rotated out and tells me how many times it's been viewed. I thought it was a nice courtesy, and helpful to me. Is this a standard feature of some scripts, or is he just a nice guy.

Well your link does not work...
But the only script I can recall that even does what you describe is the shaven ferret script.
It is somewhat handy information even though a counter on the page would probably give you the same results.
I love the e-mails I sometimes get from people using the ferret script. Most times it says something along the lines of "your gallery has been rotated out becasue I have limited posts on my page to 250 galleries... your post has been viewed 0 times"
I get those e-mails 1 hour after I submitted....:D

Most TGP's that run with that ferret script send me mails like: "your gallery has been viewed by 0 people" hehe

Or you get "I have limited the number of posts on my page to 2000. Your post was rotated out of our list at [time here]" 2 hours after you submitted it.

Can you really call those pages tgps ? They look like abandoned ffa pages with 10 visitors/day to me.

Yup that's shaven ferret's script.. its pretty basic and sucky.. most of those emails are really -not- usefull and just fill up my email with "viewed 0 times rotated out in 2 mins 30 secs" :P (kinda lame.. :( )

Your gallery was viewed by a total of 1 people.

My record is 5 visitors, probably had a very good description and - very important to get all this Hun style traffic - it was rotated after 2 or 3 days. :D

A useful email from a TGP tells you whether you've been listed or if not, the reason for declining your gallery, for example the email Andy the RichRealm reviewer sends out.

I personally like the outstanding webmasters panel at video-post.com. There's nothing more usefull for a gallery maker than to see which galleries he has been submitting in the past, which have been accepted, which not and for sure why.
There's no real big bullshit about how much galleries might be submitted a day or not, it's all about first come first serve basis.
It's somewhere a big shame that most higher value tgp scripts don't even offer a system like it is offered by video-post. Something like that should be standard. It would spare most people from blacklisting, offer a better overview on what is being accepted and what not and might even improve the communicationship between site's owner and gallerymaker.

When I was starting to make galleries - and they sucked believe me - the most helpful emails I got were from Richards Realm. I went for like a week fixing each of the issues that was getting me rejected and before you know it I was able to make a gallery that would be accepted anywhere :) I'm really truly thankful for that.
I'm about to be opening my own TGP and I think that I'd like to be able to provide feedback like that. I made an investment in brownie and it lets you specify rejection reasons. I'm going to make a real effort to let people know that they can fix whatever's wrong with it and resubmit it.

Very true, in the past days, i've been mailed back with some rejections and the issues didn't get my attention, and Richard or Jeremy were always there to explain what went wrong which is a superbe service, but also a very fair one.

Let us know the sort of galleries you want Toxic, I might even have managed to create an acceptable one by then.
