View Full Version : Should I take the site title off my galleries

I've been thinking about my gallery design again. At the moment I put a header which includes the site title on my galleries, and sometimes I even include a link to the main index page. This is the first thing the surfer sees, and I think it might be better if I showed him some pics or thumbnails first. Should I leave out the header, or move it to the end of the gallery as a footer instead.

deprnds on what you want him to do... if you have a spons you want to send him to, then put a spons banner, if you want him to go to your main, then leave the header and add a smaller title or a text on the buttom. like this - you tell the serfer: HI ITS MY PAGE, SEE WHAT I GIVE YOU and as he gets to the bottom, HE SEES YOUR NAME AGAIN AND IT TELLS HIM - "COME TO MAMA":bounce: i mean:you saw what i have and come to main page.
thats my opinion. but I'm sure there will be others. GOOD LUCK :)

I feel a sponsor banner at the top puts him off, maybe makes him feel it's a hard sell. At the moment I'm trying a text link in the middle and a banner/text combination at the end to push him to the sponsor.

I like a nice link at the top of my galleries. Seems to work good for me

Do you check to see if they go for the top link or one further down.

The top of your page is your most valuable area. All things being equal, a link at the top will always get more clicks.

Is that because it's the first thing a surfer sees?
I ask that because another thing I was thinking of was to load a few pictures to get him interested, and go back and load the header later.

There are reason why the top links at sites cost more than the lower ones.

Put your sponsor link in the first viewable portion of the screen, worry about loading pictures and so on later. Make sure a row of thumbs is at least discernable at 800x600.

It's a nuisance having to work for 800 resolution screens, but I know that's the largest section of surfers. Has anyone got any stats on conversions by screen size. Is it the same as the general distribution for surfers?

Thats from surfers hitting my free pages, others might have the stats on what paysite members are surfing at.

Looks as if the best thing that we could promote on our sites is larger screens :D

Do those penis pills work with monitors? Mind I don't fancy putting my head in it if they are too strong. (Or the converse to happen).
