definetely, one of the most strange problems i face the last years. (IE 5.0/6.0 Win2k)
My IE window makes almost a minute to load and the system freezes for this period when i do one of the following:
1.preview a page for 2nd time with Dreamweaver 4.0
2.click on any link from outlook for 2nd time. For example when i click on www.domain1.com (http://www.domain1.com) the window opens normaly and when i try to click again on any other link from outlook or even the same the IE freezes.
I had installed 6.0 and I uninstalled, but the problem remains. I uninstalled all latest installed programs. Nothing.
No virus on the system.

Any Idea please?

Thanks

i'll download it now

i installed netscape 6.2 and it's much better than netscape 6.0, but i'm used on IE.

Possibly a (video?) driver or another running background process causing a conflict.

I have 2 systems - a P3 and P1. Both have identical Windows, IE and Outlook copies and setups, yet the P3 goes into ga-ga land for exactly 75 seconds when Outlook first starts. I just live with it.

Your best bet is probebly just getting a pc cleanup, download one at download.com

Also, try defragmenting if you havent.
and
Removing items from your start menu.

What type of computer do you have?
If youve been having this problem for some time, maby you might want to add more ram or upgrade the processer.

startup is empty
disks are defragmented
i have an amd 1333/512mb ram

i think i can live for a while running some tasks on netscape, but it looks that i won't avoid format this month :(
