AWGtrade (http://www.awgtrade.com/) is written in c. Its a free trading script. Anyone uses it? Is it GOOD?

I'd like to hear some reactions on this as well...
Tried to install it once, but majorly fucked it up, and
didn't bother with it again.
Don't really like their forced trades thingy tho,
but it will probably help me out better than cju :)

I would wait till its out of beta if you dont have much technical knowledge with using these types of scripts since theres no support. Otherwise if theres a problem your site could die pretty quick and thats a risk you need to consider.

Sounds promising to say the least i might give it a go myself and see how it does once they offer a non beta. :)

if so, can someone tell me which trading script can I use if I'm a dummy in scripts, dont know how to install and handle them, and Clickz doesnt reply (yet) on my registration. Is there something free for a newbie like me?

AWGTRADE is the easiest one to install
If you can't install that one, you wouldn't be able to install the rest... well, maybe it is just easier for me

try Traffic-Drive, CJU and such... hit the SEARCH future on the board and search for each one to read more about them

Iv'e had lots of trouble wit free trade scripts. I am getting a payed one like UCJ or TGP Software. They kickass!

This is Danny, with AWGTrade.

First, I want to point out that AWGTrade is the offspring of a trade script that we put together in 1997. We never sold it, but it was used on several of our friends' sites - Free Heaven, Bizarre Rituals, Today's Thumbs, and others. At the time, we weren't distributing it or trying to keep up with features that the scripts that followed had implemented.

Recently we decided to go ahead and release it for free, rather than just letting it sit there doing nothing. That meant adding the new features that people have come to expect from these scripts. Mostly, that meant working on the interface.

We appreciate all the interest already, but please keep in mind, we are still in beta as we clean up various code that we implemented recently and find bugs that only a public beta can (especially without compiling the code on each individual machine). When we release a final version, it will be a quality product.

As for the admin being written in C (which someone complained about on a seperate thread)... It is inefficient (for the programmer) to code an admin in C due to memory allocation and such. However, the performance is NOT inefficient, with no advantage or disadvantage. The main reason for the admin being in C is to keep anyone from dicking with the code in which our profits are based.
