I am using my little bro's laptop for a few days and everytime I open ps7 and try to save my work it crashes or I just can't save my work. He is running xp home edition and I can't seem to figure out what is wrong.
I installed xp service pack1 but no result. I also reinstalled ps7 but still no result.
Does anybody know what could be the problem?
Thnx already
BTW everything else works perfect, only ps7 is fucking me.
Q.
Try running it in compatibility mode

What notebook is it?
I use PS7 on different machnes (including laptops) and I've never had problems.
Try turning off the power saving stuff, try running it as administrator, maybe there are wrong permissions for his users...

You should also have 2-3 GB ram for every 1 MB of file size in photoshop...

There is also a setting in the PS preferences. You can set memory usage and scratch disks.
go to Edit > Preferences > Memory & Cache.

I usually work with at least 6 large pictures (70MB tiffs) in Photoshop and I have 512MB RAM. I know I could have more for better performance, but as long as I process two pics so there is 4 left, the work is very very smooth...
according to your calculation I should have 140GB RAM for 70MB file.. ouch.. ;-)
