Here is sweet justice to all of us that hate this mind-numbing pop music that is filling the air like background static...
This is translated from a slovacian newspress, so mind the translation :)
Late summer superhit „Asereje“ from Las Ketchup still plays in radios, while , clergy in Hondurase condemns it - it tempts to Satanism! (?) Word play head in the song from Asereja made a huge scandal , though nobody expected it . Is it really connected to Satanism?
Honduras teachers prohibited singing or listening to the song, cause they think the refrain (which can't be translated - word play ) is just a modification of Satanistic formulas. The argue the refrain means: "Long life to heretics , let's top the Yehova".
You can find already translations of this text on Spanish sites , where they say "A ser hereje" is an invitation to a seanse.According to Honduras church representatives the main character of song embodies the devil itself. Sony Records of course argues "the members of the band don't belong to any sect" and there is no hidden message in the song - "It's just a word game". Spanish and Honduras church representatives want to continue investigation and "make all people aware ....

Grrrrr............

For me the refrain is just something like:
i said aheb hab daheb dahebbe do the hebbe and si he no ba ahabbi and the boggy and the woodididi
i said aheb hab daheb dahebbe do the hebbe and si he no ba ahabbi and the boggy and the woodididi
:D
It's a pretty cool song if you're drunk and everbody starts doing the thing with the hands :)

Funny thing - I didn't know who sang that shit, and language they were spitting. I was unable to get it out of my head - even though I heard it only twice, maybe three times.
I was about to look around to get more info, and I saw this thread ... and I am pretty sure, that's that shitty band! :bounce:

Yep, english version is not so bad, as someone said expecially when everyone's drunk and screaming text cluelessly :D
Btw, about that satanistic point etc - it's all BS.. Hmm, not many examples come to mind now, but I'm sure that there are thousands of songs which could be understood differently.

- - - - - - - - - - - -
friday night it's party time
feeling ready looking fine,
viene diego rumbeando,
with the magic in his eyes
checking every girl in sight,
grooving like he does the mambo
he's the man alli en la disco,
playing sexy felling hotter,
he's the king bailando et ritmo ragatanga,
and the dj that he knows well,
on the spot always around twelve,
plays the mix that diego mezcla con la salsa,
y la baila and he dances y la canta
aserejč ja de jč de jebe tu de jebere seibiunouva,
majavi an de bugui an de buididipi,
aserejč ja de jč de jebe tu de jebere seibiunouva,
majavi an de bugui an de buididipi
aserejč ja de jč de jebe tu de jebere seibiunouva,
majavi an de bugui an de buididipi
many think its brujeria,
how he comes and disappears,
every move will hypnotize you,
some will call it chuleria,
others say that its the real,
rastafari afrogitano
he's the man alli en la disco,
playing sexy felling hotter,
he's the king bailando et ritmo ragatanga,
and the dj that he knows well,
on the spot always around twelve,
plays the mix that diego mezcla con la salsa,

Surely it can't be worse than "Achy breaky heart" or the "Macarena"?

Ok guys you made me do it. I downloaded that song. Sat down and listened.
It's like the whole arrangement of the song is up to date, using decent finalizers, new & cool digital reverbs n' all the other cool stuff you get in the modern studio.
Damn, but the vocals seem like from 80-ties! It's not the recording techniques - it's vocals themselves. Listening to these girls, I see vintage galleries from 80-ties, nevermind the dead people. YIKES!

The chorus is simply a spanish sounding, gibberish version of that famous Sugarhill Gang song, Rappers Delight
I said a hip hop
the hippie the hippie
to the hip hip hop, a you dont stop the rock it
to the bang bang boogie, say up jumped the boogie
to the rhythm of the boogie, the beat
Compare it to the Ketchup crap song, it has similarities in the sound of the words. I believe that's how they made the song in the first place. Actually, I read that that was their explanation of the origin of the words... Eat that you sectarian whores.

Some lady called our local radio station and told them..
'Can you stop playing that stupid *beep* ketchup song? It's annoying and I hate it!'
Because of that, all listeners got to hear it AGAIN after it was just played and then they were doing a top 10 of the day or something and EVERY TIME he would do...
'And coming in at number 5...'
And play 10-15 seconds of the song to piss the chick off. We all sufferred. :(

:) The real story of that song is supposed to be about some guy who sang some mumble-jumble rap-like shit and thought he was "hip". That's why the refenrence to Sugarhill Gang is there. The music is just old plain "flamenco" turned to "pop fashion". These girls are the daughters of famous flamenco "cantaor" (singer) Tomate (Tomato, then they're "The Katsup"). And other than this stupid song, they've very good songs in that record. Plus, they're quite fuckable, specially one of them (the busty, of course! ;) )
In short: I'm tired of that song, but I can live with it. Hey, it's way better than (say) Blink 182!
