The main thing from what little i know about them and their services is that is not a managed box. You have a box plug in and its on you to get it up and keep it up. better know your server software well.
Pay speacial attention to any work that requires some tech support. could be costly:(

on the other hand, their are some great managed hosting thats really affordable:)))

my 2

off the the races....weekend in talledaga...beer,steaks,women and fast cars....wohoo

Price:
I haven't heard about the second offer but the first is for real. Your setup fee is 436$ including 1 months bandwidth. Thereafter it's 105$ per months.

Support:
Very limited... you will have to setup new domains and stuff yourself

Rgs Mr Woody

I know a couple of guys who have servers there, they swear by them. Of course without having some solid admin skillz I'd bet it would be a nightmare. Personally I'm honing my own admin skills so one fine day I can move into one of their boxes and save myself $550 mo.
its impossible to give theese prices...

I don't know if the 5,000 customers is ev1's total, and rackshack's are a part of that, or just rackshacks customers - but with 5,000 customers it will cost them <$2 per customer for the gigabit cogent link. Of course the other 60% of the bandwidth usage will cost more, but at those levels of traffic there's bound to be some significant economies of scale.

Look at it another way...

5,000 customers
800Mbit/sec total average
each customer uses 0.16Mbit/sec average
about 51Gb a month each.

Disclaimer: These are just back of the envelope calcs and I have no idea how accurate the 5,000 figure is, or where it came from.

Cheers.

$1.50 a gig overage will beef up their margins.

And they won't do dns for you, only for one domain per server, and extra IP's cost $ too
