Not down, but practically useless at the moment... tech support line goes to an answering service, and they haven't replied to my email yet.

Glad to hear it! :) The first reply I got back showed an MRTG graph and said nothing appeared to be wrong, but he was going to pass it onto someone else to look at.
I was pretty sure it was not specifically my server as the packet loss started on inbound traceroutes on the second last hop, so it's probably the switch or router that my server connects to.

this is not a new problem for me if you ping http://www.crazyoldbabes.com/index.shtml you might get the same problems as im having in on 2 t1's at the offfice and for the last few weeks my server has been loading a little slow at first i thought it might be me.

There tech guys told me that they disabled pinging, to help protect them from hackers etc...

I don't get what this has to do with horrendous amounts of packet loss? :)
