I use a screensaver that I always have appreciated since I'm like 10 years old, its old like my grandma and doesn't suck CPU at all and or switch video card to freeze your PC when accessing DOS (voodoo problem). That screensaver is called: "Power button"

Don't try this at home, only experienced computer scientist can use this screensaver or it could harm monitor if forgot to activate!

hell i dont ever turn off moniters or PCs they stay up 24/7 unless power outages force me offline.

More stressfull to power down your equiptment. I have had one of my 14" moniters for over 6 years running and still works like it just came out of the box.
