Weird subject maybe, but i'd like to start a thread about the cheater/anticheater methods.

I've been reading a lot from webmasters ressources and still miss the necessary expertise/infos on how to track down more experienced cheaters...

These days, actual traffic trading software provide also instant (autonome) anti-cheat features which easily help finding suspicious traffic flow, by highlighting those trades in question.

If a certain trade goes beyond a certain predefined limit of proxy-traffic (in/out), a trade might be disabled automatically, until the incoming traffic reaches a normal level again, thus re-enabling the trade again etc...

Personally, i learned to deal with very obvious hitbot traffic... But what about those advanced hitbotters, which not only hit extremely (in/out) from one single proxy-ip (also confirmed when checking other trades ip-logs), but through a large scale of different proxy-ips...? How can you say if it's cheating or not ?

How do you guys deal with this kind of proxy-traffic ? When do you begin to worry about suspicious proxy-traffic? Are there any common proxy in/out percentages you'd specifically define as being especially interesting to look at?

It's obvious that it'd be foolish to ban/delete everything related with proxies, as most broadband connections use them as well...

What else do you look for when checking your logs/stats (when looking for possible cheaters)?

Proxy-traffic might be very valuable or... not.

It'd be nice if everyone could jump in on this thread and share their experiences/knowledge with productive advice =) It could not only help ttotal trade newbies but also offer more insight ffor experienced webmasters.

Thanks in advance!
