So it seems like IE6 doesn't take cookies by default. I think that is the reason why every TGP webmaster talks about high "no cookie" traffic.

What would happen if we all used a script to find out if cookies are enabled. If no, then no galleries,no nothing , but instructions how to enable cookies ?

-Sabertooth-

I was told by Tim that IE6 has only 3rd party cookies disabled by default. UCJ cookies are not 3rf party cookies e.g.

Hmmm, you're right.

What does 3rd party cookie exactly mean ?

I am not that familar with cookies, but I believe a 3rd party counter is also placing a 3rd party cookie? Not sure...

The point I'm seeking for is..:
Could we filter some shit traffic by forcing ppl to enable all cookies ?

Third party cookies are called from a different domain than the one the surfer is visiting. IF the third party has the privacy thing that MS requires the cookies should still work in default mode, as I understood it to read on MS site.

I also talked to one of the counter owners (KC from Paycounter) and he gave me this url if you want to find out just what needs to be done to make third party cookies work -- http://www.w3.org/P3P/

do you have any info to back that up? I mean other than Tim which I do respect and everything.

and another thing, how many site visitors DO NOT have cookies disabled regardless of their browser type? any way of finding that out for one's site?
