Hey, I live in Orlando and their is tons of stuff to do. Try to make it to Islands of Adventure if you can. It has tons of the best rollercoasters. One of the rides has an accelleration rate of 0-40 in 2.1 seconds i think. All of the Disney resorts are awesome. You will not be disappointed if you stay at any of them. Check out Pleasure Island at Downtown Disney at night or CityWalk near Universal at night. There are 3 story go cart tracks at Magical Midway on International Drive and tons of other things on International Drive. They have a huge freefall simulator near Universal. There is Sea World, Splendid China, Disney, Epcot, Universal. Goto Orange Ave. if you are interested in clubbing or Church Street Station. Those are just some of things to do around here. Have fun ;)

Hi shane,

I used to write guide books on Walt Disney World for "The Children's Wish Foundation" here in Canada.

The books were geared towards people with special needs and it's great to know that Disney is accessible to all people.

My favorite resort in WDW is the Wilderness Lodge - not only is it an amazing hotel but it has the perfect balance between getting away from all the madness and close proximity to important attractions.

If you have money to spend then try either; Wilderness Lodge, Grand Floridian or the Polynesian.

If you are on a tight budget then i highly recommend the All Star Resorts.

Things not to miss while in WDW.

Magic Kingdom; Pirates Of The Caribbean, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Alien Encounter, Space Mountain and the evening parade

Epcot (Future World); Spaceship Earth Ride, The Living Seas, Living With The Land, Honey, I Shrunk The Audience, Test Track, Cranium Command and Body Wars

Epcot (World Showcase); every pavilion is a must see and ALL the restaurants have amazing food, but i will give you a list of the BEST of the best: The American Adventure Show, Maelstrom and El Rio Del Tiempo and for food; France, Mexico, Germany and Morocco

Don't miss the evening show Illuminations

Disney MGM Studios; Twilight Zone Tower Of Terror, Voyage of The Little Mermaid, Studio Backlot Tour, The Great Movie Ride, Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular, Star Tours and Jim Henson's Muppet*Vision 3-D

Don't miss the evening show.

The whole park at Animal Kingdom.

If you are into water theme parks then you have to visit either Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon.

Every night is a party on Pleasure Island. Lots to see, plenty to drink and music for all tastes.

I've not mentioned everything that is available. But i can tell you that the last time i visited i was in WDW for two weeks and still didn't see everything.

If you have any specific questions, please feel free to ask.

Have fun, wish i was going with you.
:D

Hey guys thanks for the comments! So basically everything is within walking distance if i was to stay at Disney resort? I am driving in so I will have transportation to go other places =)if needed. I have a 4 year old so we will have to take turns on the fast rides but hell I can't wait to go =)) We went to Disney in CA in June and it was fun. Everyone alwasys told me that disney world was 3 times as good.

Walt Disney World is the best!

Everything is within walking distance to some form of transportation. Not many people walk in WDW (to my surprise) but you will find that the easiest way to get around is using the WDW buses, monorail and boats.

If you have a car then driving is great for the water parks and other out of the way attractions.

Another reason to stay in a WDW hotel is the perks. You get early morning access to certain parks on certain days (an hour before the general public). You get a transportation pass that allows you to use any transportation system whenever you want.
You can make reservations for dinner and dinner shows much easier.

That's why i recommended the Wilderness Lodge. It gives you the ability to walk to the boat dock (taking you to Discovery Island or the Magic Kingdom), or walk to the River Country (the old water park), a bus service right outside the hotel will take you anywhere in WDW and a short walk will take you to the TTC (Transportation And Ticket Center) which is where you can get on the monorail.

Some children under the age of 8 find everything overwhelming and sometimes a bit too scary. So be prepared to take things slow. Children in the age range of 4 to 6 usually enjoy Mickey's Toontown Fair and Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom. Child care can be found in most of the high end resort hotels, while in-room child care can be summoned to all WDW resort locations.

One more thing, for the grown-ups.
;)

Families with small children should know about the "kid switch" policy at the theme parks. At attractions with age or height restrictions, a parent who waits with a young child while the other parent rides the attraction can go right on when the first parent comes off. (Be sure to ask the attendant).

I used to live in Orlando and went to Disney weekly with my kids and I never knew about the kid switch thing. Going to have to give that a try next time.

Oh,

The Disney Contemporary Resort is nice, the monorail runs right through the center of it. You can catch a ride from there right to the park, they will even take you to downtown disney and pleasure island.
