Damn you guys don't waste time! I just got bombarded with some ICQ msgs.

I'll tell you what I would like. I need a webmaster to find about 25-30 new movie links a day. I currently only have a few submissions a week. The new links need to be galleries and not links to other movie sites unless I trade traffic with them. After finding the 25-30 new links, just make it html table and send it to me via E-mail.

Tell me what you think is reasonable or what you would like in return.

webmaster@freehugemovies.com

Thanks,
The Jester

I just got asked about money. I do not want to pay anyone cash. More like you can list a gallery a day on the site or have a banner on my page. I mean work with me!

Thanks,
The Jester

"finding movie links"? what is that supposed to mean? are you referring to going to other movie posts and STEALING their links? link collections are protected by international copyright laws.

The collections are, not the individual links!

Movie galleries can be found in google for example.

Please... No one should complain about free exposure... The webmaster's whos button is on the gallery or the webmaster who posted the gallery.

I have checked my refers in the past and saw galleries from my TGP posted on other sites... I dont care, it sends me surfers from other avenues.

RT,

Are you crazy? It's free traffic for their galleries. When I submit to a movie post I get hits from all over the place. Hell, I use to get hits from Thumbzilla when I submitted to freebigmovies. It isn't like a link is copyrighted. A link is public domain.

The people submitting their galleries want as much traffic as they can get. And of course "finding" is a nicer term than the word "stealing" :D

Any webmasters interested in helping me with my previous post?

Thanks,
The Jester

smut pimp is completely right - "the collections are, not the individual links".

dawg, when you steal links off a movie post you are violating their copyright on those links - not the webmaster's who submitted the link. naturally the gallery webmaster doesn't mind some extra traffic but that is not the point.

TheJester, you go right ahead and steal links off other sites. you'll find out soon enough what will happen. whether you'll get img sourced with some major traffic that will bring your server down or get sued - you won't like it and wish you'd never have crossed the line.

"It isn't like a link is copyrighted. A link is public domain." - read again what i wrote, i said link COLLECTIONS are copyright protected not individual links. either way you have no right to copy other webmasters' hard work and steal links off their sites whether they are movie posts, tgps or link sites. the gallery webmaster did NOT submit the site to you and you do not have permission from the site webmaster to reproduce his links either.

RT,

Thanks for your concern but I'm not worried. I am friends with most of the movie posts and I have told them what I do. It isn't rocket science. Nobody is going to post big movies unless I get about 30K uniques a day. I get a few movie submissions but not as much as I would like.

I would love to have a call from a lawyer saying I stole THEIR link off of their movie site. I would love to see them prove that in court beyond a reasonable doubt. Talk about a lost cause.

BTW, I don't even host my images.

I don't want to fight or argue about this. If anyone is interested in this please ICQ me or E-mail me.

Thanks,
The Jester

In my opinion you can steal as many Links as you like, just change the link, the movie post they come from could argue that the wording is his, but he has no rights to the URL, it's the gallery owners.

so steal as many URL's as you like
Who cares? free traffic for the gallery owner, just make sure you change the wording corresponding to the URL's

euphamon,

I totally agree. Words are like the webmaster's work but a link isn't. Any takers? One guy wanted 50 a month. One guy wanted a money bar at the top of my page. I would like to get a few thousand hits to that person in return.

Thanks,
The Jester

obviously you have no idea what you are talking about. i suggest you check out http://www.screwthescrewers.com/legal.html and read up on the legal stuff. there are more resources covering this subject but this one is the most appropriate since it was written for adult link sites.

regarding the "lost case", again you are completely wrong. let me cite from the screwthescrewers.com main page: "In December 1999 The Hun of The Hun's Yellow Pages won a lawsuit against a company that was stealing links from these Yellow Pages. The president of the court decided a link-site is a database. And it is not legal to re-publish (parts of) a database in any shape or form (so not even with altered descriptions) without written permission of the owner of the database."

it is pretty easy to prove that the links were not submitted to you respectively where you stole your links from if every gallery has a reciprocal link to the site. the fact is that galleries with reciprocal links on them where SPECIFICALLY made for the site they were submitted to.

no matter how many newbies post the contrary to comfort you, it doesn't change a thing. unauthorized reproduction of link collections is a violation of international copyright laws - at best you get imgsrced and your site will be offline for several days until you remove the offending material, at worst you will get sued right out of business and end up earning one dollar fifty an hour at mcdonald's.

it may be convenient to think that what you are planning to do is legal but it definitely is not. as for your offer, anyone contemplating partnering with a thief should have his head examined.

as far as i'm concerned, you are only some fucked up newbie kid who thinks he owns the web and can take whatever he likes and use it on his site not giving a damn about copyright laws. eventually you will mess with the wrong.

Jester,

To avoid any problems that may or may not come up. Just contact some webmasters of medium to large movie post sites. Tell him/her that you would like to place his banner in a PROMINENT position on your movie site if he will allow you to put 20 of his submitted links on your movie post everyday.

Movie Post Webmasters want 4 things...

Submissions, Traffic, Exposure and $$$$$!

Just contact 10 or so movie sites and you'll be surprised at how many of them will work with you for exposure.

Maybe 5 will let you have 20 links per day... that's 100!

I know Andre from www.moviepost.com (http://www.moviepost.com) works with people and he gets over 100,000 daily hits and many daily submissions.

RT is correct... so don't steal... instead...NETWORK!

~EB~

P.S. Here's an OLDIE tip...People Posting on BBS's are looking for traffic. Just post some messages with the URL to your submission page..NOT your main page. That would be considered spam. Let them know that they are free to submit their galleries to you.

Example:

Subject:
Looking for Movie Galleries...

Message:
I've seen alot of great postings here. I run a Movie Post site and wanted to tell you that you can submit your galleries to my site if you are looking for more traffic. I require a recip link... but hey... who doesn't? If you have some galleries that you would like to get more traffic to... submit as many galleries to us as you want. http://www.freehugemovies.com/webmasters
(or whatever your submit page URL is)

Most Webmasters want more traffic.

Most webmasters won't mind you useing their list as long as you contact them and make up your own descriptions.

Putting a link back might be a very good idea, i think a banner is too mutch but a nice text link back should be enough for most site owners.

You can also try to find other small sites and exchange galleries with each other. Every site owner can make a small list of his own galleries and share it with the other wembasters. Less work and more galleries for everyone ;-)

exitbeast, good post. that's exactly how it should be done. most webmasters won't mind providing some of their links if you ask for permission and put up a text link telling surfers where the links came from.

when you start a link site it most definitely is hard to get enough submissions at first but stealing links off other sites is not a solution.

RT

smutpimp, willingly sharing galleries with other small sites is another great idea to get started.

if all things fail, you can still enroll in a multi submit like waycool.porncity.net and filter out the movie galleries.

you see, not getting enough submissions is NOT an excuse for stealing links off other sites. there are other ways.

RT,

"as far as I'm concerned, you are only some fucked up newbie kid who thinks he owns the web and can take whatever he likes and use it on his site not giving a damn about copyright laws. eventually you will mess with the wrong."

Thank you for those kind words. But, you don't know me and you have no idea what I do.

exitbeast.com,

Thank you for your suggestions. I will formally ask my friends if I can steal their links so they won't get pissed.

smut pimp,

Thank you too for your suggestion.

Thanks,
The Jester

thejester, if you're friendly enough with other movie posts, why not just have one send you some of the galleries he's posting each day in return for a link?

basschick,

Thanks for your help. I didn't even think about doing what everyone has suggested. I am going to do as they all suggested. I am not going to step on anyone's toes.

Thanks,
The Jester
