Is anyone else experiencing downtime with datahosters? It's been 1 hour since my sites went down and still not up.

We are working on the problem..

It seems plesk has deleted the master PW files on one of the servers and locked us out. Once we can get back in everyting will be back to normal.

There are a few clients still with us running the script which we will not force them to change but we will not allow any new setups.

Its nothing personal against Lane but we cant have things that dont work 100% of the time as they should. There are many new scripts out there right now and we feel they are a better solution.

Sounds reasonable. I know what a pain errant scripts can be Had one take one of my servers out the day before yesterday.

I guess it should drive people to work harder.

Anyhow server is back up this very moment i recieved the recovery alert. I apploigize if your site was affected and we will see what can be done to prevent this as its the second time this happened.

Plesk seems to be unaware of the issue we have notified them and hopefully they can advise us in the near future.
Hey toker,

Take a look a http://hostgui.com/ I used plesk in the past and I thought it was a total peice of shit.

We are going to have a couple copies installed for us. look promissing once they release it.

Did you try CPanel/WHM yet? I think it's the best.

Yes FTP and Email access is locked the Shadow file is what contains the passwords no worries everything is ok just cant access it atm.

Muff im checking that out right now it looks nice and yes Plesk is a load of crap. Every moment of downtime we have had is due to plesk and none of our dedicated servers have failed yet.

Larger clients are being moved to non plesk servers and hopefully we do find another solution that works for everyone. If you have a dedicated server and plan to use plesk you should be aware beforehand it has issues.

We have retracted statements against them on their BBS because they asked us to and most often correct the problem. However the amount of money they charge per install they should have fixed the bugs by now.

They are aware of most all the common issues and will fix when they are contacted but they should fix before they install the dam thing. Its not a bad solution for mainstream hosts but for adult sites its not so great.

Cyberzen yes they are working on it but the cause must be determined before the file is restored or it could just lead to another crash.
