Sending trade hits from different domain

I'm trying to get a new site to grow. I have a lot of hits coming to another site of mine, all productive hits, and I want to send them to my trades for the new site.

How can I send the hits coming to my older site to trades of my new Site but in such a way that they get counted as coming from my new site?

I've got an idea - with httaccess.

If I redirect a surfer from another domain to a non-existing page on my domain, and set the httaccess to send him off to the target trade, will the referrer be my domain?

No. htaccess redirect replace headers and will keep the referer info from the site the hit came from when all the way to the trade site.

What you could do is make a redirect script that fake referer info, but let's not get into that here, people could use (Abuse) it to cheat big time.

You put up a page on your new site, and put up a html file with a meta refresh to your c.cgi (or outgoing file). You have to warn that this is not cheating to your trades i suppose...

can you change the url your trades come in on so it points to something that redirects to your new site? something clear so the trade partners know exactly what you're doing and there are no surprises (and no hard feelings).

By the way, inspired by the thought I am now writing a PHP script to fake referer info. I will put the script up on the script site.

Also I am working on the idea of using the ActiveX exploit to change the default referer string for users executing the script. This script could be used on sites to create an army of promoters for your site(s). EG all your visitors will forever after always have http://www.yourdomain.com/whatever.html as referer info no matter what site he/she visits and thus creating a nice flow of webmaster traffic wherever you want. If I can do it, I will give this script out aswell on the script site.

I know the mentioned exploit script is possible and will give you updates later if that is wished for.

Just redirect with htaccess and the referer header from the trade will be carried all the way to your new site.

I'm confused.. Ok, here's what I can do, suggest the best method for me to work it out please -

I have 2 domains - A.com and B.com . I need to send the traffic to Trade.com with B.com as the referer.

Now, the traffic is coming into the page http://www.A.com/index.html

I can change the index.html to anything I want, including a redirecting page, but I can't change the name from index.html to index1.html or index.php

So what is the best way for me to send the traffic to Trade.com showing B.com as the referer? I'm not cheating, and my trade knows about it, its just that I have to fool his script.

not sure if I get what you mean completely... but what I understand from it is you create a script that rewrites everyone's reffering url to yours forever... which means that wherever they go, even though they don't come from your site, you'll get credits for it..

meaning, if I trade with you 1000 hits, those 1000 hits that go to another page from mine won't be credited to me.

My second script idea *could* be used that way yes. In no way do I promote these kind of activities, but this script will work that way too.

However CJ/trade sites do not send back hits to sites in which it has not an active trade with, so people can safely use my script without feeling they cheat as long as they don't use it on their trading sites.

Well, that might be cheating, since many big sites share the same trades. So if for example, pornno.com uses the script, it'll get all the credit for the hits easypic sends thumbzilla. I would not suggest a public release of that script!

However, the script that will redirect once writing a custom referrer would not be so bad. In any case, I'm in dire need of one!!
