I am TOTALLY FUCKED OFF with hearing about the 'poor innocent surfer'.You know the wanker that signs up for your paysite on a 3 day pass,downloads all your content,then says he has never heard of of you?Same deal
with the dialer 'experts'.For example:Enraged wife spots 'teenfuckforexample' on hubbys desktop and instantly the asshole is trouble right?
To fuck him up further LARGE(High they may be,but unless the cunt cannot read,he does not have to download it and launch it) charges to exotic destinations appear on his (their)phone bill and this 'dialer user' is just looking for a way out, any way.IT WAS NOT ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We run paysites and dialers down here in Europe.On the CC side we have the same crap as you.We know and the 'member' knows that HE DID subscribe,but no one belives us cos of our 'content'The worst are the cunts that run their memberships for six months THEN decide that they have never heard of us and claim the whole 6months back.
Listen ,we run a good site and we spend much in new content and 60% of our members are happy and stay.
Yeah we do get bogus charges and these are refunded without question.
BUT, what about the 'pro' scammers?.Sign up, deny it,get a refund and move on to the next site.
WHO is going after these fuckers?
Scams work both ways.We run our sites to the letter.It sucks but make our cash even after paying out fraudulant refunds to these tossers who have used our content for free.
So how about this?I see the FTC are going after RJB.I have read the 'charges' on the FTC website. (By the way. here in Europe, you are innocent UNTIL proven guilty)Seems to me the FTC have decided that RJB are guilty and thats fucking that!!
I just hope that RJB can tell tell the other
side of the story and stop everyones hearts bleeding for the poor,scammed,innocent little ole sex surfer who had no idea what he was doing.(Pass the fuckin sick bucket)
(PS)On the dialer side.If the user of one our dialers don't pay they get their phone cut by the phone company and we still get paid.
HE HAS TO PROVE he did not make the call.

That's what happens when you use a billing concept that doesn't even attempt to make sure the person being charged is even aware.(dialers)

It's a concept full of holes and now FTC is punching holes in it. The surfers aren't poor innocent people. But they aren't the MARKS that the dialers make them into. You just can't gouge people like that and overcharge them so much. People will complain. (Common bussiness sense. To bad more people in this bussiness don't have any.) No other bussiness would expect to get away with this.

Try a realistic bussiness solution and you might get better results.

($150 for 1/2 hour of ANYMOTHERFUCKINGTHING is not realistic and how can you expect to collect on it over the long term.) The gravy train of dialers is over. Face it.

DB, I don't think anyone has ever said what you just said better. Seriouly, I have been trying to point this same thing out for months now. I was one who used to worry so damn much about the surfers, but after running a large freesite and only depending on sponsor signups to pay my bills... here it is 16 months into that site and I barely even make enough off of it to pay my damn bills.

Well I have been doing this as I said for 16 months, never got one bad letter or response from not even one surfer....... they are all forever writing me and telling me they love me and I have a nice ass, this that and the other.. you name it and I have had it said to me if it is nice....... however, if they love me so damn much, why not give me a fucking break and help me pay my bills? LOL I provide them a free service and all I ask is that they signup for something on my site so that I can keep the damn thing open.... I have been toying with making it a paysite for months but have worried about the surfers and haven't done it yet. Seems it may be time to do just that.... no? Betcha they won't be too damn happy with me then will they? LMAO

hehe, I know just what you are talking about db. A little bit ago I thought I would try out a reccuring program. So, I sent a little traffic to it to test it out and rung up about $130 before the pay period ended. Well, a day before they cut off the pay period, a bunch of refunds occered and guess what it left me with..........around $7.50!!!! YEAH!!!! my ting is this.OK from the US the call charges are (were) high but the point is even if you take the charges down you will still get those who refuse to pay on the basis that they did not make the call when they fucking well did.
Same shit with CC memberships.My point is

We all giving them everything for free. Just to realize that in fact all we do is fucking each other. Then why complain? Signups were easy back in 97-98, now you gotta eat your heart to get those few signups to the sponsors just to pay your bills. And why would they signup if they can get absolutely everything any paysite has to offer for free elsewhere?
Plus the surfers scam, it virtually was nonexistent back in 96, but in 99 it was a major catastrophy and in 2000 the whole bunch of great paying sponsors bit the dust.

Maybe I should clarify here..... on my big freesite, I only offer nudity, both men and women...... but if they want hardcore or anything else then they have to go to my sponsors for that. I give them only naked men and naked women........ they are all submitted to me, so the level that I give them for free is just simply nudity....... I rarely ever even make a gallery with anything hardcore on it..... I force them to go and either pay for it on a sponsor site or go somewhere else.

I was not around in 98..... not in the porn thing anyway. BUT I have this theory that if we offered less HARDCORE for free, then maybe we would get better signups to the hardcore sites.... no? But I agree totally, why the hell SHOULD they pay for it when they can go to Joe Blow's site when they leave mine and get all the hardcore for free?

In this biz there is no unity. We each have our own views. However I think everyone agrees if we didn't give surfers free porn, we all could pull fortunes. But it ain't gonna happen, not in this lifetime. If you blur your pics on your site, then the surfer won't bookmark you, so you keep giving them nice pics, movies, cartoons - name it, you keep building tgp galleries, etc, etc

Well i got a crap load of charge backs and refunds last month as many as i sold.. totaly fucked! I think you will see a lot og cancelations this month as christmas is comming that means that CC card will be need for other things.

One funny thing I remember when ran my paysites, I used my own merchant account.
I get a call from one lady and she asks to cancel her account. I log in and see the account already cancelled. I tell her that, she thanks me and hangs up. I look at my table and there sits a yellow envelope from Humboldt with a chargeback on that account. Hahaha.
I get pissed off to the point of no return, take her phone number from my caller id and type a nice letter that I'm suing her $25,000 liquidative damages for defrauding my site. Week later her husband sends me money order for $100
After refunds, chargeback fees and and resellers commission I break even on her account (her husband account to be exact)
The other chargebacks of course I ate my losses just like lot of you doing now.
That's why I don't like recurring programs anymore...

I don't understand why some of the billing companies did not start using people's PIN (Personal Identification number) code when billing people over the internet. That would reduce the fraud level with 105% and making chargebacks would be impossible
