I'm in Puerto Rico, still a relative newbie in the business. I do have domain names in Spanish, such as Gozatelo.com. Paid $500.00 for it.

One of these days I'll develop that domain, for now it is just taking a few hits.

What's Santo Domingo like? Expensive? Safe?

My friend and I heard a few "fun" stories and we're dying to check it out.

What kind of connection can you get in the Dominican Republic ?
Is it possible to get dsl ?
Hoe mush are you paying for it ?

A friend and I am going to check out the Dominican Republic in the start of the new year. And have been talking about staying there for some time :)

SD is pretty much like any big city. Safe in most areas and surprisingly expensive to live in. It costs me about the same to live here as NYC. BUT, you can have a TON of fun here!!

1407,
I have 512k DSL for US$150 per month.

BTW, in case you don't know, the DR is a spanish speaking country, a lot of people come here thinking it's like most Caribbean islands and expect everyone to speak english, that is not the case. Anyone coming down feel free to shoot me an email.

I'm planning to find a place in the Carribean for the winter. Anyone know what islands have good and reliable internet connections?
