Where is that company based? Are your offices here in the United States?

I wouldn't know anything about the accuracy of your products. I do know that over 50,000 sites use my products and that number is growing daily. Our products are fully accurate as well. It's not rocket science to count accurate hits.

Maybe we could do lunch. I've been involved in counters for 4 years. Maybe you could walk away learning something about how they work so you would understand that most counters are accurate.

Labret, Maybe a silly and very very dumb question, but is it this reason that my Tradescript says i have 10K in and sextrackers says only 4K?? Okay maybe the 10K are raw and not unique but a difference of almost 5K between my Script stats and Sextracker stats is kinda weird

That is precisely why.

I used to have a page that all my server logs said got a steady 20K a day. We're talking about MKstats and AXS, and raw server logs.

I added several of the what are considered to be "good counters" and what I found was just fucking ridiculous. And I know most of you have to realize this by now...

All of them were off by several thousand hits. Some more, some less. Sex Tracker, Sex Hound, Hit Box... all of them suck, if you rely on them for your stats... you are getting screwed.

Non of them are what I would call Acurate, the only way to get the real truth is to process your server logs.

But like I say, if your gonna use a counter then you best use sextracker because they are a industry standard. IE: You can compare your site to most of the adult industry with that counter.

Just cause Andrew Edmond convinced some of the big boys to jump on board doesnt mean shit. Back in the day, lots of people ran towards Sex Tracker... the other alternatives back then sucked and Sex Tracker was pretty with all sorts of bells and whistles. Where is Flying Croc now? I saw their furniture for sale on EBay.

And why wouldn't PK, the Hun, Green Guy Etc not got with Sex Tracker... or any other counter for that reason? So what if there stats are off by a few thousand hits? "Bummer, it only shows 550K hits instead of 600K hits"... doesnt matter, they are still in the top 10 and get the traffic that comes with it. I SERIOUSLY doubt the above mentioned webmasters rely on Sex Tracker for definitive stats. Thats just crazy talk.

If you are not in the Top 20 on a counter, fuck it...whats the point? Your getting little or no worthless traffic from them. The stats suck and are unreliable. If you have a cgi-bin there is NO reason to go with third party stats. And besides, it steals your traffic. Wouldnt you rather have your traffic going to a sponsor rather than XXX Counter?

Third party counters are for ego maniacs who are obsessed with their position relative to the other ego maniacs who struggle to reach a certain position on Sex Tracker.

The only people who make out in this are the coutners themselves and those gigantic few who are in the top 10 in their respective categories.

The big sites did not choose to use a counter becuase of anything to do with Andrew Edmond. They chose it because it provided them with the statistics they were looking for. Also, Andrew Edmond is no longer employed at or affiliated with Flying Crocodile, Inc.

I respect your opinion about counters. The fact is that 1000's of webmasters disagree. It is very useful to have real time third party stats in many situations. If your margins are extremely low and your going to miss a couple hits a day you might want to think about it. Almost nothing in the world is free. We provide a good service for webmasters though for an exceptionally low cost.

Extreme-Dm has indeed fine referrer stats but last time I lokked they didn´t allow adult stuff and they close your account when you hit them too hard (like 10,000's hits p day). And the stats are public (including referrers!). Even if you make the graphic 1X1 pixel everyone could get your tracking number from the source code.

Thecounter.com is free too and not public. Their referrer tracking isn´t so good as Extreme-DM but not too bad either.

Sextracker is good for mini sites because they give you 30-60 uniques when I remembers right per day for the first couple of days even if you don´t send hits back.

LOL thecounter.com had a toplist at one time, I miss it too cause I was at the very top of their counter with Wolfsporn.com from the time they opened it to the time they closed it.
