Getting people to join a toplist

Ok, how the heck do you attract people to a toplist?<br />I have the #25 universal rank on Outster, and that still isn't attracting webmasters.<br />how do you go out and get webmasters for your toplists?

Trade submit links with other toplists. Also, put a submit link on the top portion of you toplist so that when webmaster bounce around looking for new ones they can join yours easily. I hate having to search for the damn submit link.

Has anyone ever had problems with autorank php and getting the cron update to actually work?
I can't get it to work for the life of me..
so I get to manually update the list 4 times a day :

Hey, you pic on top loads 404 for me, might be random errors from your server.. is it overloaded?

This could keep alot of webmasters away from you signup form :(

The best you can do is trade submit links with other toplist webmasters, especially if you can manage to get your links on established toplists or even better on sites that carry links to big amount of toplists : like this one - http://www.toplistcentral.com or http://www.nichetoplists.com then follow the links at the bottom and you will find a lot of them.

Another good way of getting new accounts is to send out emails to webmasters of your other sites - if you have some trading site for example - I dont mean to spam all the adresses you can find, just use the list of webmaster adresses you already have from some other sites of yours - I am sure you know what I mean.

About 70% of our toplists are without gates, check desc.

From personal experience and friends of mine.. toplists AND sex search engines are rarely used.. people just go to a major SE or click on one of the gallery links if they want to switch sites

and the traffic is gold too..
