I don't think it's all Bush's fault. Clinton was too busy doing interns for 8 years and failed to create an energy policy. He likes the lights out anyway when he is doing interns. http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif

Bush just inherited Clinton's mess... The energy crunch certainly did not happen overnight, as it will not be solved in a day.

Bush and his family make all their money in Oil. They have nothing but to profit from this. Passing it off on CLinton is nothing more than typical Republic rhetoric. Why do you think Daddy Bush was so quick to march into Kuwait? They are heavily tied up in Oil. California busy crying and Bush telling them to "fuck off" fix it yourself. They have a puppet for energy secretary, its a fucking joke. The Republicans could care less if you payed 4.00 a gallon. Here in Detroit we have been told to expect it to hit 3.00 a gallon.

Gas costs so much this year because the cost of refining has increased 70% in the last year. Who bears the brunt of that increase? You, the consumer.

I drive a diesel so I dont care. 50 miles to the gallon and price on diesel never moves.

Problem with US is that they always try to solve shortages on supply side.

Your energy problems could end real soon if you also looked at demand side. Simple things like turning off the light when leaving the room helps a lot!

Hmmmm, I don't know that the problem should be blamed on Clinton or Bush yet.

I don't know how many of you are old enough to remember the 70s -- during the Carter administration when there were lines at the gas pump and people could only buy so much.

Why did that happen? It wasn't because there was no more gasoline, it was because OPEC countries decided that since Americans all drove big gas guzzling machines that it would be a good time to get them over the barrel literally.

The world response? Honda, Toyota etc jumped into place as premiere car mfrs since you could get 35 mpg instead of 9 or 10.

Once Americans as a whole started driving fuel efficient cars it no longer made any sense for OPEC to raise oil prices, we just didn't need that much gas to get around.

So now, what have we? A large percentage of Americans are back in gas guzzling machines (I'm just as guilty as anyone, not throwing stones here...) and OPEC decides to take a tweak on our collective gonads as a nation. Just because they can.

What should happen here? My personal opinion is that America should bomb the fuck out of a few of these OPEC nations, starting with Mexico City -- yes thats right, Mexico is an OPEC nation -- since Mexico's done nothing but benefit from NAFTA and should have told OPEC to go fuck themselves instead of playing this game to hold Americans hostage at the gas pumps again, knowing that it will take years for us as a nation to go back to driving small cars.

Clinton or Bush??? You guys must all be too young to remember that genius Carter and his amazing energy plan. Chart the price of gas before Carter and after Carter and I think you'll find the problem.

A bunch of bullshit. Whining are crying over $3.00 per gallon.

How about checking how much you paid for that gallon of "fresh spring" WATER in your refrigerator.

I personally think gasoline should be $10+ per gallon and if you can't afford it - fuck you - WALK! Or ride a damn bike or something. Carpool for sake!

You pay 2-150 times more for one ounce of fucking perfume than you do for gasoline.

Get a grip.

By the way, it's $1.79 per gallon here.

LOL tmknight, let's try to remember that we don't wear perfume by the gallon... or at least I hope not!!!!

Oh No,

10$ a gallon? I don't think everyone in the "I have to go to work everyday" America can afford those prices.

That kind of Enviro Propaganda Thinking is the reason we are paying these prices anyway.

Hey let's close down all those damn Supermarkets and replace them with ration lines. That would end world hunger.

Let's out law Computers, they use too must power. That darn Internet with all it's servers shut it down.

No, better Idea, I think internet access should be 10$ a minute and If you cant afford it- fuck you - Stare at the wall.
Or share one computer with 4 or 5 of your neighbors. Compupool for sake!

You pay almost 50% in taxes on money you produce working. You should have to pay out the nose for something the country needs to
produce capital, everyday.

Do I have a grip on things?

You are right. I think we should just suck all of our resources dry and pollute our environment as cheaply as possible for the consumer.

I mean heck, who gives a shit if we can breathe or any type of wildlife or fisheries exit. As long as we can all drive our own automobiles as far as possible and as cheap as possible.

That's what we should do. I stand corrected.
