I made a deal with Snoopy or AWC that runs:<br /><br /><a href="http://www.adultwmcash" target="_blank">http://www.adultwmcash</a><br /><a href="http://www.awchost.com" target="_blank">http://www.awchost.com</a><br /><br />He was supposed to send me 1k hits a day for 30 days for $100. I sent him the money, he said he would start pumping the hits with in an hour and send me a UN and PW so I could log in and check stats on it. Well, DAYS went by and a few posts on the board how the free host is redirecting and one before about how he screwed someone else, but it was worked out (so I figured he was legit). I decided to go to PayPal and request my money back. After a few days he hit me up on ICQ saying something about he hasn't been able to connect for 3 days and that my traffic was 'ready'. I responded telling him to either start the traffic or refund me the money. Few days later, (Yesterday or Saturday) I got an email from PayPal stating that the case has been solved and my refund was .03. 3 FUCING CENTS. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" /> That's $99.97 less then what I paid. I've contacted both PayPal and again tried him and nothing. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks Dreamer. I've tried and tried over and over to get PayPal to do something. I've told them OVER and OVER that all I know is his name, asking if they could do something about it. They mentioned notifying local authorities and I asked them if they could, they said no. They told me I had to. What am I supposed to do? Go down to the local police station and tell them that some guy screwed me out of $100 via PayPal and all I know is his name and nothing else about the guy? They would laugh and tell me to come back when I have useful information. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

Joshua,<br /><br />They were probably talking about his local authorities. I would contact the BBB about this. In your report tell them that you are trying to pursue this but PayPal won't help you and they won't release the scammers address info. After you get his address then you can file the report with his local PD or small claims. I may be mistaken about the small claims court. You may be able to file that in your area, not sure my lawyer always handles my bullshit for me.<br /><br />Hope this helps. I hate being scammed too but I love revenge. Hey, I had the same problem with paypal. All you have to do is remind them that your insured up to 100,000.00 dollars! You aggreed to that when you first signed up with pay pal. If they fail to do the proper investigation (paypal logs all transactions) then you my friend will have a pretty cute civil suit on your hands. Once you remind pay pal of that little detail, and they still fail to do what they should, then simply call a lawyer for a consultation. Paypal does not insure you for traffic or payment of services.<br /><br />You can contact local authorities who will be able to obtain his info from Paypal themselves. You dont have the right to just request it yourself due to privacy laws.

If his ass in AZ I'll goto his house and get my money back.<br /><br />Rose, PayPal told me to contact MY local authorities. They responded back to me about how I'm supposed to do it when all I know is his name, and supposedly it isn't even that and they told me to contact their internet fraud division in my local police station. Still missing the whole fact that I don't know shit about the guy. I swear to god the support at PayPal sucks ass and they have larger idiots working for them then dial up ISPs do.<br /><br />Toker, I know I don't have the right to request it. All I was asking for was what state he lived in so I could have atleast something if I went to the cops or something. There has been some confusion. This post is not regarding the individual that goes by the name/handle 'AWC' and/or 'Maistre'. There's also the FBI.. they have a simple online form for reporting internet fraud... only time I used that I got around $2k back from a furniture company in a hurry (after I told them it was done). Later, the FBI told me I was one of VERY few customers to see their money back before company went belly up.

Contact the local police in his area.. it's amazing how well this works. <br /><br />Use neotrace to find out what city he's actually in, eg trace his IP address, then file a criminal complaint with the police in that jurisdiction. <br /><br />They will usually at least phone call the bugger, which is good for panicking them into paying you/refunding you as they should.<br /><br />I am not in the least bit hesitant to call the cops in the hometown of someone who's trying to screw me. They are usually helpful.

Well, update is that he claims he's sending me a money order on Monday. Kinda funny though that he has yet to show his face sort a speak around any boards and/or ICQ.

Hey, hate to bring this back up, BUT...

Ok, 2 weeks later he hasn't sent me a dime. I warned him last week I was going to go ahead and go down to the police station tomorrow if I didn't start receiving 2,000 UNIQUE a day from him or my money. Doesn't look like he's gonna respond any further.

My question is, what do I say when I go down to the police station? Should I print the ICQ logs and stuff? Let them know the address that I think is his and if they wanted to his domains are registered @ GoDaddy which is about 3 miles away from me and they could get a court order or something to get his LEGIT information, because in order for him to of signed up he had to use a CC affiliated with him, wouldn't he?
