Would you start a pay site???

I think this is a good question here since a majority of the members don't have pay sites.

Anyways, who here would even attempt to open a pay site??? How much money would you save up before you opened your first pay site. I read an article over at ynotmasters saying that now a days, it takes a million dollars to run a pay site that is guaranteed to make money. Why wouldn't/haven't you open a pay site?

Anyways, just thought this would be an interesting topic.

I run paysites and got into the cj / tgp game later on.

It would take alot of money if you were going into the standard big tit hot girl market... as it is a glutted market.

If you find a niche that is not glutted, like black midget transexuals, and you have the content and traffic, give it a shot.

It is a lot harder than it was 2 years ago, but you dont need millions to get into the paysite game. Look at some of those amateur girl sites that are making money. Its just them and a digital camera. You may not make millions, but you'll make enough.

we started 6 paysites(soon to be a sponsor proggy) with very little cash upfront. If you're going to do it with not a lot of $'s in the bank, I think you'll need to make some deals. We partnered with a content company(they shoot exclusively for us now) to remove the biggest expense. The key for us was we have enough of our own traffic to make sure it's profitable without depending on others. I think the ultimate game in this biz is to send most of your traffic(and other peoples) to yourself.

pay sites can be good in niches that aren't overfull, but you need content that hasn't been around the block. also, i suspect that the more mainstream your niche (like teen, hardcore, etc) the more content you need overall.

paysites are a dime a dozen - everyone is starting one, but most of them don't keep their members worth shit.

we started a shemale paysite once upon a time, with over 5000 shemale pics, 3 live shemale feeds, several chats (including shemale chats), shemale stories, over 1000 shemale videos, plus lots of non shemale shit. i sold memberships like crazy, but couldn't keep the members past 1 month.

i think exclusive content is pretty important - leasing the babenet collection, and the igallery collection and the python stuff isn't enough.

Never start a pay site unless you can't do the content your own, it's a pain in the ass to pay the content and keep members. Converting isn't easy either. And you're more involved into the legal issues that come with porn

There's an old rule in business that says something like 10% of your employees will do 90% of the work.

Same goes with webmasters.

Some new age design like Tim's (btw, how is your new design on angelhardcore converting?) or some design that don't fit in usual!

Maybe surfers trust more to ordinaly pay site designs!?

one of my best sponsors deals with the content problem by licensing exclusive unseen content from their content providers. in this way, the sponsor doesn't have to be responsible for housing the i.d. shots, and doesn't have to actually do their own shoots.

they have the best member retention of any site i've done a partnership with in the last 2 years.

I like youre sites, they look very good. But a question I have is, why the multiple page breakes on the top of your pages? Wouldnt you want the graphics as high on the index page as possible?
So when a surfer lands on your page they would see the full Layout, or am I missing something.

Hey Toni, so you will have a 50/50 recurring program? How will you deal with exit consoles, will you have any, and if yes, will you promote other sites there or only your own sites (and will I get the share for those too). I might try to sell them, they look good.

Yes it's going to be a 50/50 program. The resellers are going to be paid on the exit console sales too. On the beginning the reseller is going to get paid for two links from the exit console. For example for realsexworld: the oldnfat and sexypetite spots on the console.
The second group of sites that I will start working on soon is a pure fat, a pure mature and a pornstars site. After that should come: watersports, upskirt and interracial. I'm planning to have at least 15 sites and at the end the reseller should get paid for all links on the exit console. But this is going to take some months.

The reason that I'm starting my own pay site/webmaster program is that I was sick of sponsors that shave my signups and where I have to look up to them like to gods. I always missed the personal touch and the possibility of a normal talk.
Some sponsors treat their webmasters like shit and I'm sick of that.
I want to have a fair cooperation with my resellers.

The reseller program is going to be ready in a day or two.
Let me know what you guys like, what you hate and what you are missing at your sponsor.
Any suggestions to improve my Webmaster program are very welcome. I'll do my best to please my resellers. I can only make more money if the reseller makes more money too.
