Shit, they changed the submission form, go and try to submit a page to submitta, it won't work with any of the available submission softwares anymore. Look what sweet little idea they had. Now lets hope that not all hundreds of search engines start with that crap, otherwise we all will have to spend another hour per day just for submitting to the engines. Well, almost solced I'd say wolfshade.
Altavista displays a code which is not in text (so software could read it) but graphically. Means a human being first must have a look at the code, then fill it into the form, and only then you're allowed to submit up to 5 URLs. Real nasty of Altavista. No way to do it with software. or let's say: very hard to do. You can barely read it with your own eyes, guess graphical ocr or so would fail most of the time.

i bet we arent the only ones who will bitch about this. my dad is a teacher and maintains some websites for kids. he is also 52 years old (which isnt that old) and had some trouble reading that shit. he had to try 3 times and finally called me and had me submit his shit.

im sure the groups that watch out for accessibility issues would love to get hold of this one. that page just screams "we dont want people who have bad eyesight to submit web sites to us"....

That IS pretty shitty.. One of the reasons they did this is that they are by FAR the most spammed SE's.. so it may be a blessing.. your site that you submit by hand may accually come up in the top 20.. hehe
