View Full Version : Cashnews.com BEWARE
I signed up for Cashnews.com's pay per click banner program. Here's an e-mail I received from them. It happens to be the day they were supposed to send checks.....
Ray,
I see you sent us a lot of traffic but there was not one sign up. We need for you to be converting in order to pay you. Talk to you soon.

Webmasters Beware,

I had their banner up for 4 days to test them and earned $100. What a waste of my time.
P.S. They approached me for traffic. I gave them a shot and I guess they only pay who they want.

Yep, nothing in their terms about conversions either, although it's pretty much to expected at 20c/click. Just another scummy sponsor.

It says it right here:
If you are a member of the unique program, the productivity of your account is reviewed each pay period. If it is determined that your traffic is grossly unproductive you will be notified and your payout/click will be changed, retroactively effecting the current pay period. This rule is in place to protect the program as a whole from cheaters, and grossly unproductive websites that take money away from the program without any positive return on the investment. Any site that doesn't maintain a signup ratio of 1:180 or better could be subject to a payout change. Note: The average adverstiser using CashNews sustains a 1:100 signup ratio or better. Achieving a 1:150 ratio is sustainted by over 90% of all CashNews advertisers that uses the unique program.
If you want a "no conversions" type program you join a blind link program. Not a program that pays 20 cents a click. No one can pay you 20 cents a click if your traffic doesn't convert.
Actually they only pay you 20 cents a unique click if the person signs up. All other clicks are 2 cents each.

Ok... Your payout may be changed - so what's this line:
We need for you to be converting in order to pay you. Talk to you soon.
So he doesn't get jack if he doesn't convert? That's a rate change to 0.
Didn't notice that line in the terms though.

Whatever happened to the good old days where they payed us 0.20 per click and we didnt have to worry about conversions because the sponsor would make money with other moreproducing sites.
I think its unfair that every single WM has to produce...the sponsors have gone greedy and should be shot!

The sponsor can't make money of 20 cents a click. End of story. Never could too...and if they paid 20 cents a click with no conversions..they were shaving.

Yea we can see who is the master of defence for the guily here.
Although i do agree to a point sometimes its better to pay and just get exposure because eventually the guy will see your ads everywhere and more chance he will join. I dont think most surfers join a program the very first time they see your banner or site.
So therefore i think its better to pay webmasters a bit less for a higher future gain. Unless your member area flat out sux and you know that rebills are not likely to happen in this lifetime.
Look at the big sponsors and see the big picture its exposure that sells and marketing experts know that.
You take a look at the cash AOL spends on shoving freesbies in my mailbox every month and you will see what im taling about. Them fuckers know very well what advertising is and its the one thing they actually know how to do right.
