ok<br />i'm working on my personal site<br />i have this obe mp3 i want to include upong this one page when it loads<br />it is 11mb as an mp3 though<br />should i convert it to aiff?<br />or some other sound file type?<br />which sound file types are best for pages and why?<br />i'm thinking i should use a more universay sound file type like .au or something, right?<br />yet at the same time, i have to consider compression due to the size of this file.<br /><br />please hook me up<br />thanks

i mean, ideally for size, i would go for real audio.<br />yet, not sooo many people do not have real player.<br />at the same time it would be like the size of a large jpeg or 2

prolly b/c of it's bitrate<br />actually, it's Robert Fripp<br />he does ambient stuff....oftentimes teams up with other ambeint artists or Aphex Twin or Autechre <br /><br />i suppose i could find in a lesser bitrate, but i think the size is from the length of the track<br /><br />any suggestions?

yeah<br />i checked<br />the track is like 8 minutes long<br />you figure twice as long as a typicsl pop/rock song, thus twice the size of one going at a 128 bitrate

Keep in mind a modem user will take about 15-20 mins per MB. DSL still a few mins even at such a big size. <br /><br />WAV or other media would be about 110MB if you convert it so thats not much better. What i would reccomend is to cut out a portion maybe 30 secs worth and use that in a loop.

you should just not add any sound to your web page<br />that kind of shit only looks good on a mickey mouse site
