I think is funny that many people say that
unlimited B/W doesn´t exist. But it does.
I have a hosting company called Blue Web House
'www.bluewebhouse.com', and I am connected
to the internet through a 155Mbps
line, and my account is not restricted.
My account is not capped, but I will off
course pay for the traffic that I use,
over the month. If it is over my
account, I will pay for the overusage.
I can peak as much as I like. If one
155mb line is not enough, they will add another line.
If thats not unlimited B/W, I dont know.

when pepole say unlimited bandwidth they
normaly mean you pay a fixed cost then use
as much as you want with no extra cost
the plan you are on is clearly not this
on my experience unless you host gazillion of high traffic sites, you don't need even close to 155 mbps, however the line should be burstable and that's what the Tier1s call "premium product"

Bandwidth is always limited, just in different ways.
Foremost is the fact that no matter how much incoming pipe you have (Cavecreek currently has 2 gigabit handoffs from Level 3 and another on the way, plus OC lines from both GTE and ATT in the facility) there is a point where you simply are done for the moment.
Incoming bandwidth has to be routed, load balanced and the boxes that take the final leg have to be capable of handling it. If any of these parts fail or aren't configured properly, all the gigabit handoffs in the world won't add any more to the bw than your capacity. If you don't have enough of a support staff to configure and manage your hardware you will also be limited in what sort of thruput you can do.
andy2000 is correct when he says that people usually mean pay a flat rate and use all they want to when referring to unlimited bw and that is about as unlimited as any other bw.

if you look at hosting companies, you will find that "unlimited bandwidth" means you pay a flat rate for transfer no matter how much you use -
it doesn't mean you can get all the bandwidth you need.

I got an account with bluewebhouse 1 month ago and it IS on unlimited B/W and flatrate. First of all I never saw as low prices as they offer. Thats why I got interested in them. Secondly before I placed my sites with them, they explained me all about their flat rate system and even if I cross the traffic max/month they dont cap me. Thats what I need to build up my sites. I hate when hosts are using the cap system.

Nobody is cheaper than me when it comes to hosting. And nobody has the best Tier 1 bandwidth.
$230/Mbps=320 gigs/month=$.71/Gig
We host high bandwidth sites and we do it on the best backbone on the net.
Verio's backbone is the best around, with peering arrangements with AOL and @home. If you want your sites to load the fastest check out what I'm offering.
Nobody has faster bandwidth than Verio. And nobody can get you on their bacbone cheaper than me.

Jamie, you may provide great service but what you just did is just make false statements.
There are hosts who have better prices than you. There are hosts that are connected to Verio and other better backbones than you.
It is impossible to transfer 320 GB using 1 Mbps measured on 95 percentile and you know it.
Verio is not the best backbone on the net and a site hosted on Verio will not load faster than one using the Internap network.
UUnets backbone is better than Verio's and uunet has many more peering agreements. I also know of a host that offers better rates for Verio bandwidth.
There are many host who can offer prices better than $230/Mbps based on 95percentile. We can offer $229/Mbps http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/wink.gif
hahaha
hosting wars.............
"the best Tier 1 bandwidth". "the best backbone on the net." "No shit, my dick is bigger"
ahahaha

Well Cavecreek's not the cheapest but we never claimed to be.
We do have multiple redundancy and a staff that knows whats going on http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif
Oh and did I mention that we ARE the back half of the Level# data center in Phoenix? Not just a couple racks in there http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif

Keep thinking that way and maybe someday you will be. But until you have done your research dont make such claims....and this doesnt look like the spam board to me, so why you throwing prices out here?

platano, we were on an unlimited host for over a year - till they finally managed to host enough sites to use ALL their bandwidth. it took them two years, but after that the party was over!
