Ok, first things first, I am not trying to discredit any programs here. Every CJ program out there has its good and bad. And I for one spent many hours coding and I am proud of my work so I know how the others feel!

Got that out of the way... Here is some problems I see... As you know I wrote TSP, and I think I made a big mistake giving it away... I am sure alot of you will agree on that one... Well I have stopped!

Now I track all in comming hits sent to a script by an id code... Why the hell don't others do this? the HTTP_REFERER method is a shit method. Duh, a good majority of the time that environment variable is null anyways... due to opening new windows, java script or not...

Ok, so now a bunch of you are all fired up over that one... http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif

Then by tracking by IP address for uniques...? hmmm, why not cookies? I can see a good debate over these two things...

IP address, you run the risk of AOLers and other Big ISP's like them... And with cookies you run the risk of incompatible browsers... (I feel its a slim chance)

So what are some opinions on that?

I have been playing with different test versions of my script, and there are so many trade offs... I love the fact that Ucj trades raw, thats why mine does too... I have always found it harder to trade with an ES site, because of the unique thing... Plus who really knows about the HTTP_REFERRER... How many hits get lost? also I am sure I am not alone here but it seems any site that tracks by referrer just seems to make the trade suffer, and you end up pumping more traffic in...

Well, not to start a battle here, but please clue me in on the reasons why...

I agree. The sites im trading that use HTTP_REFERER stats always are harder to sustain trades.

Also Ive found that HTTP_REFERER sites claming a 180% return. is less than a UCJ doing 110% return

Do we have anyone here that runs both types of script who could comment?
