There's a Simple solution:

The President states quietly to the opposition states = If a nuclear weapon is used against US or it's allies, The US will retaliate with full nuclear force, against all (suspected countries) without investigation.

I think that message was sent when President Bush order Nuclear Military vechiles to the Indian Sea, first.

Claiming to have nuclear weapons wont help bin ladens cause. If anything it will steel the opposition to him and reinforces the urgency and reasons for this war.

There is no need to tell anyone that we will use nukes (Or whatever else seems appropriate) to defend our selves against whatever. It been US policy since before I was born that we reserve the right to use nukes to defend ourselves. We have plenty of them and the whole world knows it.

IF he has them using them would be foolish. (Though he DOES seem almost foolish in his fanatisism so who knows) Were he to use them he would only further justify the actions we are taking now and increase the oposition worldwide. (Plus then even if we DIDN'T use nukes it would only be because we felt some other weapon would be more effective but the response would be proportionatly bigger much like this war. He blew up 2 buildings using sneek tactics and box cutters. In response we apply the most modern military ever to both his orginization and the government supporting him. No sneakiness needed. Ok were coming to get you. Here we come. Still won't give up? Hear those bombs? That's us. See your buildings/camps blowing up. Guess who? It's us again. We didn't even need boxcutters.)

If he tries to play the nuke game he will lose that too. We invented nukes ;) I think we have a couple laying around (A couple? Shoot we could make afghanistan a valley instead of a mountain even without nukes.) No need for boxcutters or hostages either.

Many of the Taliban troops being caught are wanting to join the Alliance. They aren't these troops that will die for the Taliban that they are being made out to be. Many of them are being forced to fight.
