How to get an unlimitted bandwith for free

This very original idea, I admit, comes from our homey Cyngiel.
About 2 month ago, he asked me to open him a pay account on our server
for his 2 sites,
http://www.xxltgp.com and http://www.crazytgp.com. After we have closed
with him on payment of 140$ per month, he told me, that he lives in
some polish village, where is no bank, or western union branch,(i really like to help to East Europe webmasters caz i know their problems) so he
has a problem to send us the payment. However after few days he notified
me, that the check is on the way.... Meanwhile, he managed his trades
and took care of bringing traffic to his sites, so till yesterday, his
total bandwidth usage reached 40GB..... After one month of not getting
from him a single dollar, I've informed him, that we would have to
redirect his exit traffic to our exit program(damn i tried my best to keep it up), in order to pay for his host.... His responce was "There probably was a problem with a post office or something" (Just like in well known Eminem song), so he asked
us to wait some more actually untill today (23/01/2001) before we
redirect his traffic. However, instead of letting us to do so, he has
found another host to cheat and yesterday he redirected his domains to
his new victim's server.
What cyngiel got from this is the following:
40 GB bandwidth usage and the money he made from his sponsors + 2
running sites with established traffic.He also got our scripts and our work on his account.
Also he got credit time for payments and very kind service like all our customers.

What we got ?
well, we just will have to pay for his bandwidth usage...
I know that he opened some dialer programm.
I contacted to his new host company..they refuse to close his account.

I am calling to stop trade/deal with this guy.

you have his urls, and you run an exit program with (i guess) a whoooole ton of hits.

Warn his current host of the problems you had with him?

It doesn't excuse what he did, but you did let him do it. If you don't have the resources to take him to court across the world, make sure you are paid first.

I'm diesel's system administrator and I work with him on our servers,
This morning diesel has notified me, that today is Cyngiel's deadline, and therefore, we need to redirect his traffic, as we agreed. However after discovering, that there is no trafic comming to both of his sites, I've started checking what happened after 2 month of constant traffic. Well unfortunally I had to discover the following. Here is the output of unix "whois" command, which shows you all the information about the domain. I'm bringing it here as it is. Just take a look at "record last updated" date.....
this was yesterday.

I did let him do it caz I know the problems of masters from East Europe and I always trying to help them.Sorry but now I will think twice.What piss me off that we spent alot of time on his account...caz he tried to put his own homemade scripts..one of them crashed one of our server month ago.

We've several decent customers from Eastern Europe who pay on time (by check and wire). If they tell you they don't have a bank in their city well what about taking the bus to the next bank? Nobody can tell me that he lives in a city and has internet access but that there's no freaking bank in this city and that he can't go to one either.

My hint: If you get a new customer let him pay his first month's bill by creditcard or wait until the check is received BEFORE you set up the account regardless of what he's saying.

Being too nice hurts your business so don't give customers who haven't paid their bill too much confidence.

If he's serious about getting hosted he'll pay and understand that you've to wait for the payment but if he starts bitching around you know he's not going to pay and you can drop him.

I remember all problems with your sick server configuration, You should learn from Coke or guys from Prohosters. There are a lot of copies and they are running very smooth (personaly I wolud advice Coke's hosting company just beacouse I've noticed no problems for almost 5 months).

Coke, give some examples how to configure servers and please sent it to Diesel's administrator. I think it should help resolve almost every problem with Diesel's hosting company.

eXtremal, Cyngiel can transfer his domains any time.
You will receive your money for jaunuary too.
Customers can do with its domains whatever they want, as long as they pay for hosting and as I know this case all payments are OK. Here in Poland checks are usualy 4, 5 weeks late, so please calm down and wait for money.

eXtremal, if Cyngiel decided to transfer his domains to better hosting company, maybe You should discover his reason?

Maybe guys You should accept wire transfers?

I am from Poland as well and I assure You that we don't cheat!
I know Cyngiel, he is one of the 'big jerks' in Poland, so I really doubt if He could do something like the case mentioned here.

Anyway, I think You should not be solving the problem like that one here at AWI.

I know a few confirmed cases with the checks that were sent and 'dissapeared'.
That's why I decided to get a credit card and use only hosts with CC billing. I have no problems right now.

It's my first post here but i'm not new in industry. From time when someone U.S. hosting company, i will call it X charged webmaster's accounts for amounts about ten time higher than they use in fact i started to pay my ISP by cashier check. Maybe that's why many people prefer to pay by check, not CC. Believe me, i pay until now by check, and it's not $50 a month. The X is very reputable and reliable provider, maybe some of you know what i'm talking about. It was very hot when they did that, especially on PC forum. It was a mistake in theirs billing system.

Yes, sure, everyone is allowed to leave our host whenever he wants to, because he/she thinks, that our system configuration sux, our network sux, because we too expensive or even without giving any reason. We don't tie anyone with a chain, and I have no problem with the fact, that Cyngiel has found a better host for him. Our only problem with him, is that he hasn't notified us about it, at least in order to have his account closed and prevent him from paying for the upcomming month as well. Especially, when he still ownes us money...

1) Cyngiel did not pay for the hosting, and has not paid for the hosting.

2) on the deadline of Diesel saying he would have to redirect the domain's traffic to his own sites to compensate, the domains are moved to a different server.

The facts, make up your own minds if you want to do business with these people, or whether you believe their excuses or not.
