Page Size

Could someone give me some advice on page size I have 2 versions of it one is 14kb and the other is 54kb the second version has a better clcik ratio but I need to work out if it is worth the extra bandwidth etc I have 2 question

1) how do I work out what 40kb will cost in dollars
2) what effect will this have on load time

Just thought I would add this is a text only page with no pics etc
