I know it seems like you are getting frusted..so many questions and not enough answers...These are rough times and basically all newbies are 2 years too late.
But if you think you can handle

sitting in front of you PC for 17 hours a day,

legs and ass get numb for sitting down too long

work for over 7 month and only get 20 sign ups total..

Be hungry but you don't wanna get up and stop,

See thousands of naked pictures without JACKING OFF

Have NO LIFE during the intial phase

then after 8 months of this non stop shit then you can be an adult webmaster..

if you can't handle it..don't do it

till then read some newbie boards,,
fellow webmasters please list some newbie boards

playa, this is possibly one of the best posts I have seen since I have been doing this.... 2 years, give or take.... and I think had someone told me about this whenever I started I would have gone at it with a little more of a clear head and knowing it was going to take awhile........

I had one or two tell me, but when so many tell you that if you aren't making the big $$$ in a few months then you should quit, that was pretty unreal to me. But this is the god's honest truth about it.

http://www.weboverdrive.com/indexframe.html

This site here as well as some of the dear people I have met in this business have been my lifeline. I don't think I could have made it as far as I have without the combination of the two.

I say Bravo to you...... some people need a bit of reality shoved down their throats and not all these images of millions in a few weeks... not all of us can do this. And what alot of newbies are not aware of when they start this, I know I didn't, is the immense amount of time and work that goes into it.

I BARELY knew html when I started it, but with the help of sites like weboverdrive.com and some very dear friends, I can now install most of my own scripts and I have a pretty good handle on alot of the inside things that go into this.

Yeah I went into babble mode again.... bottom line is this........ it takes a ton of hard work and it isn't easy, none of it.

I've heard this 20 billion times. I'm really not sure why you needed to bring it up again.

From my stand point, I'm pretty certain newbies will be making money in this biz 20 years down the road. You're really not discouraging people from coming in saying something like this, you're just encouraging them to work harder.

Bullet..... DUH!!!! LOL Isn't that the point? If they want it, they have to work for it? Right? And if it needs to be said 20 billion more times then it should be........ there are new people coming into this each and everyday..... some are looking for the quick buck and some honestly wanna work........ it's hard to decide who wants to work and who doesn't anymore.

Who knows? Maybe the next newbie might be making YOU millions in the next few years... has been known to happen. http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/wink.gif

I know playa was just trying to scare away a few of the new guys with this post, but overly exagerating like he did doesn't really do it. People have to learn on their own, they're not going to be easily manipulated by people they hardly know.

A good percentage of the people that get in this industry are smart intellegent people. Most need some extra money. And I can say without much of a question that ALL do it for a quick buck.

A lot of the new guys aren't rich, and I doubt most of them want to get sued or go to jail. Why not tell them the right way to get in this biz. Why not say this:

Buy your own content. Listen to other webmasters, do what they say, and don't piss them off. And get a free host so they don't have to pay huge bandwidth bills.

If they're lead in the right direction, and they listen, follow the rules, and make money, I think that they deserved it. But it's the uneducated webmasters who always get in the way.

And if newbies don't know about newbie boards, then that's probably because they're newbies.

thousands of porn surfers attempt to convert to adult webmasters' everyday. then they post on boards asking for help and can't figure out why they ain't making money..

then they quit,,

i got proof also,,

lets think about all the new ppl that sign up on this board and wait 1 month later and see if they still post here anymore..

thanks tam for your support http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif

Bullet I disagree. I think Playa is trying to tell newbies that despite everybody thinking porn is the easy fast money industry it isn't that easy. If you are going to be successful and make big bucks it is going to take long long hours. Alot of newbies seem to think that making money in porn is real easy and that any moron could do it by putting in the minimal amount of work.

Long term success and making the big bucks requires the insane amounts of work that Playa is referring to. I think newbies should know that.

I agree.... I run a site where people submit pics to me and I post them for them........ have been for a long time, and you have NO idea how many have been so intrigued with this that they email me and ask me how they can start their own site....... I turn them on to a good freehost, tell them to make sure they don't just "take content" from other sites and tell them if they need anything I will be here to help them........ and I do help them the best I can with the time I have.

HOWEVER, you have no idea how many have come back to me after we have gone thru the "how do I get traffic" and I show them the various places I use to get my traffic.... this is after I show them, this is how you have to make money.. and this is how you do this and that.........

After going thru all of this, I have a ton of them email me and say to me that they never realized the time and energy and work that is involved, they think you can just toss a few pics and a link here and there and you are off and running.

This takes an INSANE amount of time..... and what I get back from the surfers that try it is that they have an immense amount of respect for those of us who do it and succeed.

So I think alot would like to know straight up front that it takes the amount of time and work it takes.

And yes I got into it thinking "quick buck" "easy money", all of those things.... boy was I ever surprised. LOL

Tam is speaking the truth, a lot of the other people who have posted are too, but especially Tams just above. I can't testify to what he/she has just said since I'm a newbie.

I got into this by asking a long time netbuddy about 1.5yr back from denmark who owned a moviepost what it as all about, he explained the link exchange concept, and how they actually make money, with click thru's, blind links in the link post etc. I said okay so how much money does it make you? he said between 1-1.5k/month. I said thats awesome, and thought silently that it would be a "quick buck" as these guys have said. I started making the site about 5monthes back, just long houred, continual finding out new things that are imperitive to it's success, and it's still goin. and your right it is driving me INsaNE, I'm going to work at it, I need some methamphetamines to help me though! =((((( it's killing me!

playa... thank GOD... now I don't feel like I have lost what I had left of my damn mind..... I eat dinner, I think numbers, I go shopping, numbers...... I go anywhere and do anything and there are those numbers and ideas popping up everywhere....... You see them too? JEEZ, I am glad to hear that, I swear I thought I was losing it. LOL

The biggest thing also DONT STEAL DESIGNS people spend days even months tweaking their sites and its become a big prob with newbees. We had such an issue today with a site that was entirely copied and slapped on a free host.

If you pull this kinda stunt you more then likely wont get paid by sponsors and could end up in a world if shit. People spend too much money and time for you to steal their work eather images or layouts.

Its not like no one will ever catch you and if you cant make your own site then pay the piper or get a job at Burger King...

I agree with you all very much people are always wondering why after 2 weeks the cash aint pouring in or they dont have 50k hits a day. It takes time effort and if you cant program a VCR i think you should again consider a profession at Burger King.
