Hello
i'm going to buy new motherboard for my Pentium III 700, running WinME
I'm asking you to suggest me good motherboards that uses 100 UltraDMA and have good price/functionality relation.

Athlon is mostly for gaming machines get an AMD if you dont play games alot and use mostly on surfing and internet related tasks. I also think ASUS boards are great and they are 100% *nix friendly which is all i buy personally.

I know, ABIT is a very good manufacturer of motherboards
I found this one in the local PC store:
ABIT, Socket 370, ATX, 440BX, UltraDMA/100, 3xDIMM, model BX133
is it any good?
Any more hardware specialists?

I always thought the motherboard was the least important part of the comp. Just get something with a lot of slots (PCI, AGP, etc)... http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/wink.gif

I always thought the mother board was the most important component...hence the name motherboard.
We are using our fourth generation ASUS...but, we do not have gaming machines....these are strictly work stations.
Our goal is to create a computer that is as fast as it should be and compatible.
A game machine is a whole different animal.
Plus, I try to stick with Intel..please don't yell at me....because they are more compatible with our software than the others.
