maybe i'm not the right person to judge and i don't call myself "old wolf" either...
i'm reading AWI everyday 5-10 times/day
some time before, i was reading nearly all posts here, but now.... i need to scroll and scroll till i find at least something interesting or worth to read/post/talk/help/etc...
people on other boards talk that "AWI became a newbie board and they have nothing to do there", i don't think it is a newbie one, but i think that it wouldn't hurt if Tim could add a sub-board of "general webmaster chat" sounding something like "niewbie webmaster chat"...
Rich or Mag could move all the posts like "review my new site" or "what script to buy..." or "...." to the newbie board...
opk, i guess it's enough for you to get the idea http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif
thanks for your time

This may be off topic, but if you go to GFY board, (which is consider the "pro webmasters" board) and cut all those boneprone 4-life bs, you'll find as many newbie posts as this one.

Or least maybe techie area vs just the general discussion might be good.

Placing newbies posts into a sub-board would make the "general" sub-board boring and stale. There are other good boards for newbies starting out in this biz. There's no need for one here.

I agree and disagree..
There are many good newbie boards out there.. but very few that focus on CJ'ing...
So as a newbie if you want to start CJ'ing this is the place to hang out... cuz if you do it on other boards they will not know enough about it to be helpfull as they do mostly avs and freesites...
so IMHO i think we could need a newbie board... and also perhaps people would be more helpfull there to newbies... On the generel webmaster chat forum there can sometimes (not very often - dont get me wrong here) an attitute of not helping... probably due to the many post about the same newbie question...
sorry for the long ramble, will step of the soapbox now http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

yup have to agree with it. I like to help oput newbies.
but there are tooooooo many the same posts. and sometimes that sucks.
I vote for a newbie-board.
only because then they know where to post the same question 13.000 times http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/wink.gif
and GFY the pro board. naaaaah i don't think so. there is not much real stuff going on there. everyone wants to win the dvdplayer.
why not really add techie board also?
some people come here for fun, but lot more want to learn things, in this biz you live and learn, lol. I think it would be good addition.

well I have been away for a while and came back and noticed that all the Old Timers are no place to be found on here any more..
Just my .005 cent..
I still want my damn sponsor forum =)
LOL
My 15,000 dollar cents

I noticed the thread when it started http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/tongue.gif
I was just waiting for a few more opinions. I definitely see reasons for and against a newbie board such as those already mentioned in this thread.
I'm giving it some more thought. http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
::sniff::
No mention of my sponsor forum =(
Jon
Sad but will survive
I'm a survivor, I'm gonna make it, not gonna give up, I'm a survivor =)

If Tim opens a newbie board, I guess no one will visit it, because most of us wouldn't be interested and "newbies" wouldn't find any answer, so they'd move to the general board again to find the answers they need. At least that's the way I see it

Not just this board but all adult boards should just change the text on the "search" to "All questions answered here instantly".
Perhaps using a font size of 36 or something.
After all its mostly all the same questions..
who pays?
best hosting?
stop hotlinking?
buy content?
anyone know JavaScript?

well if tim opens up a newbie forum that won't be fair to all the other newbie boards cuz they will all post here now http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif

CAN WE HAVE A WE HATE POOKY AREA
no only joking
Seriously though it sucks when newbies come on and say hi Im new can someone help me and everyone just ignores them or says no newbies here we should be ashamed.
Other people not just moderators do help out newbies on other boards but if it was a seperate board how many people would visit just to help someone else out?
I think we should just be a little more helpful on this board or else point them to wolfshades newbies and everyone else is always welcome there
