I learn the best by doing excercises i can find some for photoshop 5 and lower but its differnt any one got a good site for this

Photoshop 5 = Photoshop 6

almost the same thing . but the option are on top with photoshop 6 and the effects are named banding .

Here are some free Photoshop 6 exercises -

- Draw and paint a realistic Arnold Scharzenegger painting

- Copy a Britney Spears head over a Jenna Jameson blowjob picture

- Create and Print a lifesize poster for a Madonna concert in a special left and right included image which appears three dimensional when viewed with 3D glasses

MonkeyNuts if you really want to learn PS6 thoroughly then buy a 'Photoshop6 for Dummies' or similar book from your nearest bookstore. These books are rather cheap and it's the best way to do things, unless you have the original manual that came with the software purchase which I'm sure you dont.
