Problems checking email with ICQ 2001b

Does anybody else have problems with ICQ 2001b checking their email? I have it set to check every two minutes but it never lets me know when I get a new email. Also, even if I right click on the ICQ icon in the system tray and go to 'Check Email On Server' there is still no way to get check my email.

It also doesn't work with Russian language :(

This 2001b is really bad :( My 98b was much better :)
