Hello!

I don't know if this is the right category to post to but my DB just crashed and I would like to know if this happens often with the UCJ-C script?

Hmm,

it never happened to me. And I use UCJ since the very beginning.

But you should backup your database regularly since it is very easy to do with UCJ-C.

Just one click :-)

good luck!

I have noticed that there has been a lot of DB crashes around lately.
Here is what I would do:
1: Daily backup
2: Make sure to check how much RAM / CPU you are using. If you run out of RAM your script will crash. If you don't have enough CPU your script will crash.
If you are not sure about it talk to your ISP.

Database crashes happen due to server problems at the critical moment of a members database update (i.e. the server goes down during the writing phase). When the server is having troubles there is an increased chance of a server down plus the writing phase increases in length due to slow server performance. So if you're on a server with problems the chances of failure are increased many times. I have never seen a failure of a database without the server being heavily overloaded. This overloading is caused by other scripts that people run on the server or just oversold bandwidth. Never ucj-c.

However to counter this I've created a self rebuilding database in Version III in case of of server troubles. Once I update you you'll never have to worry again.

I'll get your update done ASAP.
