In an effort to clean up annonymous posters email registration has been turned back on.

Free email address registrations are liable to be deleted.

I speak for myself here, but I am really getting tired of all that shit I see everyday..

People, behave yourself a bit...

if it keeps on like that, it'll be a shame to even write a msg here....

this board was the best one in my opinion a while back.... now, it's getting shittier by the day... SPAM, more stupid spam,... or people acting like little kids... guys, ....

Just C'mon.....

Dunno if it's just me.... what you think Tim?

Yes spam is very disappointing as it wastes our time. By our I mean not only the moderators who have to read it and delete it but everyone else who reads it to find its just another bullshit post.

Email registration means its more of an effort for someone to spam as they can expect both their spam and their posting rights on that username to be withdrawn.

How about a simple caution - yellow card - red card system?
If somebody spams the first time, he get's stage1, when he is spamming another time or behaves like a pig, stage2. And when he is back with more crap, red-card...
Nickname get's closed...
New nicks of that person like PIV-Dialer or Show also get killed.

is that too hard again or a fair system ?

Lol Killah. Why not just boot and ban anyone with less than a grade 5 education. I think somehow a school put a link on there site and we are getting an overflow of kids in here.

Killah, thats very good, but use less cards http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif Maybe 2 cards should be enough because they will probably make another acount!

So if Rimmer use that + free email banned + ban every domain spammer has (so he can't use it for e-mail accounts) it will be just fine.

Fucking rights man..
I am in total agreence with that..
I say delete ALL free email addresses..
This isn't a newbie board, I mean nothing against helping the new guys, but the productivity of the discussions suffer when they are filled with bitching and flaming from people who have no respect for this industry, because they have no experience...
Good call, Patrick Stewart said it best when he said "The Line must be drawn Here"
well more like 'the lin must be drawn heA'

I don't want Snow banned from AWI, don't get me wrong. He's a funny guy, I luv him. "PIV-Dialer or Show" were just some examples...

I think E-mail registration is one step the right direction http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif
Howefer I also feel that a board for the "regulars" would be great. It would keep out all the newbie questions like "why did I not receive my checks that was send out 5 hours ago... etc"
BUT I also think that the moment you make a board where newbies can't post you make a board saying "hey we are better that you so fuck off"
And I don't wish to be a part of something like that. I'm not better that anyone else and you are not better that anyone else. You might know a bit more than the other guy.
So I belive that this board should be kept open for everybody. This board has built up a lot of "big names" in the industry. Why? Because they could get help here. They make connections.
One of the reasons that I love this board is board is because there is ALWAYS something to learn. You can always see what happends etc.
You don't get slammed for your posts here.
People read what you have to say and most answer correct.
The problem is however that too many shit heads suddently appears out of no where telling bullshit http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/frown.gif
Then we see some of the real old timers, saying they won't post here anymore because the board turned into shit.
NEWSFLASH for you:
This board is what you turn it into.
If you wish it to be shit then it is shit.
If you wish to learn from it then you will learn from it without doubt.
A board is always depending on the old regulars.
IF you think you doni't rely on new people in the adult biz. The pack your backs the adult biz. is based on constant renewal http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/wink.gif
That was just my 2½ cent

Well I'm just curious how this should work. Who shall decide who is a respected member of the 'community' and who isn't and what shall these decisions be based on? Number of hits, number of domains, ...?

I also doubt that this would have any sense since the respected people usually don't need to ask many questions. So, what shall be talked about on this new board?

Just my thoughts on this...

Does seem a tad elitist.

have some rules like as follows.

1) If you post your url in any other forum other than the ones set aside for spam/trade req's you get a warnning. Do it a 2nd time, warnning, a 3rd, your gone.

2) Spam, zero tollerance. It will be removed asap. Post spam a 2nd time warning, do it a 3rd, your gone.

3) Flaming, bash some one for no reason, a warning. do it again, and you get another warning. Do it a 3rd time, and your gone from the database!

Simple easy, and i can name other boards that use the same rules, and there is little BS going on.

I'll even offer my services to help inforce, if needed. I'm here all day! http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

it's not about rules... it's not about green cards and rainbow cards... it's not about a private board..

it's about how you, the majority of this board, act when people spam, or say stupid things, or talk about cheating/stealing stuff...

it's public, there can't be other rules than common sense... making a private area can't work neither...

just help us by not accepting cheaters, spammers, and assholes... that will make it better...

plain.... .and simple!

Mag: i agree. But some times you have to take the hard line.

At the end of the day it's up to tim to decide what goes down!

Hi I have a few comments on this topic.

Mag, I have been in a situation that looks like the one you are experiencing now. I ran a chat site for 2 years.

Of course you must have rules. But make them very SIMPLE and CLEAR so there can be no arguing about whether it is a rule violation or not. There will always be people who just LOVE arguing about the rules.

About having special VIP areas only for certain webmasters. You as a Moderator will regret it because then everybody wants to be part of that "club" and then you're just waisting your time on shit like that.

I think it is a good idea to make spam-free forums.
But be carefull if you make rulez about flaming. It will cost you much time and energy. Because you can always discuss "Is this flaming or not?" and the classic one "We have freedom of speech"

I think it is a good idea to block free email adresses. (use one myself, heh)

Hope I have come up with something you can use. http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif
