Does anybody know how to stop getting ICQ spam? I had ICQ 98a and I never received a single ICQ mass spam in all the time I used it. Ever since I upgraded to ICQ 2001b a few months ago I have gotten probably a dozen or so ICQ mass spams a day.

Thanks for the help,

Jeff Smith
ICQ#: 7127736

remove your info, most of the spammers do a search at the icq site and find you that way

there is a setting in the security part of icq where you can tick a part which says do not allow msg's from people not on my list that way you wont get any spam i use it and never get spammed anymore

BTW, do you know how to forward an ICQ spam message to an email address, to report it? Is it possible?

Yes, just copy and paste it. Most sponsors will be happy to terminate ICQ spammers accounts. ;>

you can also set it not to accept mass messages. that stops a lot of shit too.

Backov, it's not that simple, I did that and sponsors usually say they will further investigate. And if I am the only one reporting it, they can conclude it may be something personal betweeen me and that affiliate. But I guess such forwarding cannot be done from ICQ. Thanks anyway.

Sorry, but yes it usually is that simple. ;> These sponsors can easily look at the guys sales log, and if lots of his sales don't have referrers, bam, you got a spammer. ;>

If the sponsor isn't taking it seriously (so far, only maxcash has ignored my spam reports) then don't take it personally, just move on.

Cheers,
Backov
