Thanks for all the responses! Any one know of a decent amount of bandwidth that would be needed for a free host that will be launched when I get a dedicated server? I was thinking only maybe 100GB at first but a friend told me with the right advertising that could easily be done in a day. Thanks in advance! BTW, candid you never respond to emails. I emailed you guys yesterday before I posted this and still nothing.

Joshua 100 gigs is no where near what you need to run a freehost properly. Youll need to purchase by the meg,To do it right i would go with anywhere from 10-20 mb/s to start. Hit up e-van up there if you have any questions.

A free-host will use much more than 100GB per month if it is successful. I would probably start with about 1000GB in the first month. Of course all bandwidth needs to be fully burstable so that you can grow. If you wish to discuss this don't hesitate to contact me. Thanks, Gernot

joshua, i use more than 300 gig on a very slow month just posting my OWN galleries. so a free host would have to be ready to have HUNDREDS of webmasters like me. phatserver's special dedicated deal sounds good, and they charge a fair price per mbps after that, but you REALLY need to do more research and make some serious decisions. btw, most free hosts go out of business - you need to have very tempting header or footer ads that don't annoy webmasters so much that they won't use you.

Thanks everyone that replied. I think we're gonna go with E-Van "IF" we decide to still go through with this. BTW all, yes I knew that 100 GB wouldn't be enough. But I didn't want to get thousands UNTIL I needed it. No use paying for extra bandwidth when you don't need it. Ya know?

The reason why they charge so cheap is because they are an ISP. The EV1 network owns them, so they can afford to be the most competitive.
