Well, the reason for the huge drop in minutes, is because of the UK mobile crap. Now, NO dialer company (ie Niteline, GIB, ***King) gets paid from third-world-countries. Now insead of dialers supporting 240+ countries, they only support the 30 major contries (ie US, UK, Netherlands, Spain, France, Canada, ..etc) Thats where the huge drop came from. I lost nearly half of my daily minutes. But, ahh well, this shit happened to all the dialer companies, but what can you do =)

I never really giot any 3rd world minutes anyways, what are considered 3rd world contries????

The only countries I ever got minutes from that arent really main countries are Spain, Italy, and Canada, and those are hardly 3rd world.

I find it strange that I am hearing all of this talk about not recording or being paid for UK mobile, 3rd world countries.

Niteline still shows all of these countries in the stats and they haven't decreased at all. I am not sure why this rumor has been started.

Just thought everyone should know the truth.

Webmasters:

The UK Mobile is a number that can be called from anywhere in the world to the UK and the mobile operators here give us the money back on the call, which is extremely small since the call is extremely cheap (e.g. costs only 3c to call UK from France) they would be paying us above the margins they would be getting.

There have been rumours around, this is no big deal since most people only made about 10% of there minues from these countries, and at 2c a minute it will not effect your budget. You may als notice low minutes when changing to the new dialer, as you need to count your residual minutes that have been getting too.

The new dialers we have now do not contain UK mobile, so there is a gaurenteed flat rate payment. No questions asked.

Hope this clears things up.

The heat is on.....no lies or not telling the truth

it may work itself out but we shall see. No big conspiracy, as much as others would like to think http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif

ICSTIS AND OFTEL ACT AGAINST SERVICES ON 070 DIALLING CODES
ICSTIS and Oftel have recently become very concerned by the noticeable increase in public complaints and other enquiries about services operating on 070 dialling codes which have all the characteristics of premium rate services (i.e. revenue share, value added content and charged to a telephone bill). Oftel has recently issued for consultation revisions to the National Numbering Conventions ("the Conventions"). Within this consultation document, Oftel makes clear that the 070 numbering range is only suitable for customers who habitually move location. For the avoidance of doubt, the 070 numbering range must not be used for services which fall within the definition of premium rate services (described elsewhere within the Conventions). ICSTIS, working with Oftel, is in the process of contacting networks which appear to be carrying services on 070 dialling codes in breach of the Conventions. It is hoped that networks will willingly comply with their licence obligations, but in any event ICSTIS will take regulatory action against service providers operating on 070 dialling codes and will commence enforcement from Monday 2 April 2001. This action will ensure that services appear only on the correct dialling code in accordance with paragraph 2.2.2 of the Code of Practice, which states:
"Where certain codes or number ranges have been designated by either Oftel or a network operator for the provision of particular service categories, services within these categories must use those codes or number ranges."

My site is getting bigger and I'm doing less minutes everyday. Only my bandwidth bill increases...
Damn! I need to release my anger somewhere.

in the years i've been in the web biz, i have seen this happen again and again. a great new way (i know dialers aren't new, but the majority of webmasters have been using them less than a year)of making money emerges, and gradually sinks to the same money-making level as anything else.

the thing to do is always have more than one type of sponsor, and keep searching the boards and other sites for new sponsors regularly. there's no way around it - it happens in every business, but it happens faster on the web because our advertising reaches people faster than any other medium.

luckily there is always more ways of making money http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif
