From our experience Double Optin emails are only worth 4-5 cents at the moment in mainstream world

Good luck getting more for it.

double-opts are worth around 3-4 cents if generalized, meaning just and email.

As you ad specs to it, it becomes worth more.

For example:
Adult surfers who subscribe to asian picture lists. These people are qualified in a specific target and would be worth 5-6 cents to a company who needs to target a niche.

Postmaster direct is a big place. I only have a problem with them saying they pioneered opt in email in 96 when I was doing it 95/96 as well. :)

Also 'worth' is based on other things like your companies credability. For example, if you tell me you have a list of 10,000 emails of people who hold AVS memberships and the cost is 15 cents an email (justified), then I have to believe you are telling the truth.

By far, general emails are easier to move or targetted ones which have pricing only slightly above generalization.

Your emails 'net-worth' is really $3+ per email because you own it and can market over and over, until they opt out.

As far as were to sell them. The best thing to do is market to them yourself OR start email lists with a service like MogulEmail.com (http://www.mogulemail.com) where you can market the emails yourself and have a company try to get mailings for you on top of that.

If you really want to get in on the email industry boom (expected to grow to 8.5 billion per year in a couple years), you may want to bookmark a new site we are putting up, EmailWebmasters.com (http://www.EmailWebmasters.com) which will help you.

Hope my post has shed some light on the industy for you.
