Mailing lists: free pics in your email...

I'm going to set a mailing list on one of my sites..
It will be "free pics and links in your email" list, surfers will need to subscribe and to approve that... they will be able to unsubscribe too...

What free CGI or PHP, PHP3 mailing list scripts could you recommend for me to use? I need to be able to send attachments (pics)...

I will also send my sponsor links so i hope to get some sales. It won't be called SPAM, right?

What do you think? Any experienced persons?

you might want to try listbuilder.com

It's really just an extension of list bot. I don't think that you'd want to run a full blown e-mailing list off a free script. But there's a lot of them at cgi-resources.com

You'll get in trouble for spamming unless you have a talk with your sponsors before you start sending out your mailing lists.

I recommend you Post Office from CGI Paradise http://www.cgiparadise.com/postoffice.html (Perl + 30 day trial). I use it on one of my sites with 70K subscribers total and didn't had any problems with it. It has all options you need.

Also you can try PHPlist http://www.phplist.com (PHP+MySQL)

Talking about attachments I don't thing it's the good idea, the simplest way is to upload pics or movies and mail only links to them. I have never heard about 'Free Pics' mailinglists with attachments.

I can even show you my working copy if you like. It handles html and text only subscribers in alternate databases and is very flexable with list export requirements.
